Steven,
Thanks for having us over for what has been one of my best day with the Ferrari yet. A great group of people, a fun drive, and perfect weather. Who could ask for more?

Verell, also thanks to you for leading the convoy and having a few leaking (at least mine) Ferraris parked on your lawn for a Le Mans (or is it Sebring?) style start!

Here's a couple more photos:

Thanks agains Steven and I look forward to a dyno day in the spring.

As I left I did not get the proper wheel spin in front of the house, however at the top of the road the old Mondial found her balls and spun and smoked the tires enough to keep a smile on my face all the way to rt,101.Quote of the day I think it was from Doody "RUN IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT" I was a little cocerned thal my car would make the trip in one piece ,well I am happy to say that it did , understand how twisted I can be after I got home and checked on the store I went out for a ride in the Ferrari ,6 hours behind the wheel just wsas not enough. Thank you Steve for geting all of us together I hope to see you all son David.

Guess you KNOW you are old when your big parites don't even have the cops come to break it up! Geeeze i feel old LOL

Steven, Mr. Testarossa here.

ummm...was a little disconcerting. As I wind it up in first to redline the stopsign quickly approached sooner than I thought.just as I arrive, an officer was turning down your road with his lights on and blew right by me. thought he was summoned to shut down the wild party.

go figure.

did he go by you?? or did he stop before he got to your house.

Steven, Apologize?? Take a bow my friend; again you were gracious enough to host a fine gathering of Ferraris and enthusiasts. Thank you. Fantastic attention to detail. Huge Ferrari banner on the wall in the hallway, vintage Ferrari F1 videos on the TV etc. Combined with 14 beautiful Ferraris and a group of avid enthusiasts, a good time for all. Again, thank you.

steven - thank you so much for hosting this - it was a pleasure to meet or re-meet everybody. thanks!

birdman's group pic is way better than anything i got, but here are a few additional pics.

this is a shot from my car backwards as we were convoy-ing it up to steven's. it's tough to see here, but that's a line of red ferraris behind me up to the white pick up truck.

a shot of the front yard with steven's 308 opened up, spivy's 360, theo's 328, and a bit of birdman's 308.

the three 360s left together. the yellow car was kind enough to leave two souvenirs for the neighborhood on the asphalt seconds after this picture was snapped :-).

and finally, here's a shot through the woods next to steven's house - a very pretty setting.

Jonathan and Everyone,

Many thanks to everyone who attended. Was truly my pleasure to have you within my humble abode. Have been to various car meetings and you guys at top-notch! The best! We New England folks are truly blessed in many ways and for that i am grateful.

My apologies concerning the grilled food as was so concerned making sure everyone was ok that it was forgotten and no one asked for it nor espresso/cappuccino (had the machine warming for two hours BEFORE the party to insure a nice, proper temperature too). Please accept my apologies. Hopefully the cigar guys were happy :-)

Verell's chili was a big hit, THANKS VERELL!!!

In the end am joyous you and everyone made it here safe and sound. Must admit, am saddened that i NEVER got to drive my car yesterday :-( You guys have ALL the fun!!!

And BTW... how is Mr. Testarossa and those Blue Flashing Lights??? ;-)

Steve,
As usual, you're a great host...though I must say I missed the incredible filet mignon that we had last time!!! Nonetheless, Verell's chili was excellent. I'm afraid that next time we do this, I'm going to have to bring a chain saw and cut down that big tree in your front yard...it's blocking the view of the Ferraris! (Too bad Ferrari doesn't make chain saws, I'll bet it would sound awesome). I really enjoyed meeting all of you (and seeing those of you I had already met)! Who was it that did the tire-killing burnout in a 360? That was worth the trip alone, as was the awesome sight of 9 Ferraris cruising through Hollis when I joined the motorcade! Man, we gotta do this more often! Here's the group shot of all 14 cars...

Let me see if I got this right, we had (3) 360s, a 348, a Testarossa, a 550, a Mondial, a 328 and (6) 308s of various years. (Man, all we needed was a 355 to complete the 3xx series!)

Best,
Jonathan

P.S. Sorry it's so hard to see....I can only post up to 640 pixels wide....had to use a wide lens to get everyone in the shot! Verell's yard makes a better place for a shot of a lot of Ferraris! If anyone wants a full size version, e-mail me.

We pulled out miniutes after taking these photos.
Jonathan Bird met us in Hollis as planned. He'd invited some friends to wait with him. Told them they'd get to see a 'couple' of Ferraris. Little did they know what was headed their way!

From Hollis center we caravaned as planned to Stevens.

Steven, had a *GREAT* time. 14 Ferraris - quite a turnout. Had some great conversations!

Verell,

If i have counted correctly, seem like we will have over 11 cars. Went out and bought MORE plates, dinnerware, etc in the Ferrari today (seemed like the right thing to drive :-) ).

Also purchased a few of those steaks like last time JUST IN CASE we run out of food. Spread the good word to all as it would be great to pass the 15 car mark :-)

NOT TO WORRY
I've got a large warmer/cooler that should just fit in the luggage compartment, & 2 backup alt's
in case it doesn't.

Bruschetta sounds great.
& I love hard cider...

Know all about the Hollis gendarmes. Almost as strict letter of the limit as the Shirley,MA ones.

Verell,
I once had a crock pot full of chili in my Civic and pulled too hard a corner....you can imagine the outcome! I had the dog eating out of the car for a week. Don't let this happen to your 308! Hey, at least the trunk has a built-in 8 cylinder fuel injected food warmer.

Christine and I are bringing bruscetta (there is no way I can spell that, but I can make it!) as a nice Italian appetizer! And hard cider. And beer. See ya at 11:15. I told a few friends in Hollis about our massive caravan...we may have an audience.

By the way, in case we are not as lucky as Steve with the "man" I would suggest keeping the speed under control in downtown Hollis. The police are, shall we say, bored and zealous. Eight Ferrari's would be like a feeding frenzy for them.

Drive carefully you guys....looking forward to seeing you all!

Best,
Jonathan

Wow, this little caravan has snowballed into a real 8-Ferrari CONVOY!
Any of you songwriters? We could use some Ferrari lyrics for the old CBer's song "CONVOY"! Too bad Steven't not leading, we could
'turn into the sun doing 101 & blow that laser away...

Chris,

Many thanks, JUST got back from court.

1. Ticket by laser, only 2% of those are "beaten" according to a Government official "in the know"

2. Clear day, medium traffic, was allegedly doing/tagged at 1294 feet away travelling an alleged 101mph in a posted 55mph zone

3. Was driving (me 37 years old) a red Ferrari with young (24 years young) cute blonde in passenger seat and she was wearing a bikini top (D cups firm if you must know) as we were headed to beach. Needless to say, cliche' at its best :-)

4. Officer all certified and had laser gun records

5. officer did not show up to court

6. State defender lied to me before court, tried delaying, settling before approaching the judge, etc.

7. Make a long story short... case dismissed :-)

8. Am still rated a "safe driver" with no moving violations within the past 2 years.

Enjoy the Drive,

John W:
BEER SUGGESTIONS
- Paulaner OCTOBERFEST MARZEN Amber (In the ~2Gallon mini-keg if you can find it. I went thru 3 mini kegs last year & can't find any this year. Had to settle for a mini-keg of Lowenbrau Oktoberfestbier which isn't as smooth, but will do) Or either one in bottles, or some other Octoberfest brew.
- Dundee Honey Brown
- Killian's Red.
John, if you find the Paulaner mini-kegs, pick up a couple for me & I'll pay you for them.

Theo,
You've got eMAIL directions to my place.

Steven,
Ever try Jordan's natural casing franks? They're yet another good variety. (Of course they're RED like Ferraris!-LOL)

Verell, chili sounds good and have decided to do burgers and hot dogs (Hebrew National and also Nathans). Will still make my (?famous?) garlic rolls :-)

Will also supply wine (if desired), cigars and espresso/cappuccino. We'll NEED someone to bring beer :-)

Steve,
Shall I bring a pot of my infamous chili?
Guaranteed to warm your innards on a cool
October day!
I'm sensitive to weak yankee palates, so I'd make it mild & bring some chopped red jalapinos fresh from my garden on the side for those with southwestern palates.

If you think it'd be too much meat, let me know & I'll see if I can come up with something else. Maybe my vegetable soup. Or stir fried vegetables.

PROPOSED: Goton-Hollis-Wilton CARAVAN Itenary

Ok, Let's see if this works for everyone:

~11:00AM - Depart My place
John Beaucher & John Wise & I head out(any other takers?)

~11:05 - Doc Davis in Pepperell
Rex pulls out & joins us as we rumble past.
Whoever's last will slow down creating a gap for Rex to pull into.
This puts us going north on Rt 122.

~11:15 - Hollis center (Rt 122/Rt 130 intersection)
As we roar into the intersection, the last car falls back to let Jonathan join in.

We'll take a left(west) onto Rt 130 west &
drive thru the south end of Brookline,NH to the Rt 130/Rt 13 intersection.

In Brookline we'll turn right (North) onto Rt 13
& take it up to the Rt 13/Rt 101 intersection just south of Milford, NH.

Turn left (West) onto 101 & follow it into Wilton.
In Wilton we'll turn left onto Steve's street.

This should put us at Steve's pretty close to 12:00

fingers crossed, and i hope i don't jinx it, but the long term weather forecast looks quite promising. there's no precipitation forecasted from late thursday until early monday. hopefully that window won't shift too much.

i assume the winds we had recently affected you guys up north - hope it didn't clobber the foliage too much.

looking forward to seeing everybody.

doody.

Verell,

Wow, awesome! In the end it matters NOT what one drives, ALL Fchat members are invited :-)

BTW, my folks are coming up from Florida for the week so they will be at the event too. Ok, so maybe i'm not a Jewish Doctor, or lawyer like mom and dad wanted... but they dig the ride :-)

Looking VERY MUCH forward to this get together as the leaves will be awesome and the view from the mountain should be nothing short of spectacular! Also, want to take you guys and gals on RT31. Naturally YOU know it Verell, yet others have not experienced this AMAZING road.

Enjoy the Drive,

Btw,
Rex Miscovitch got his Alfa Spyder on the road this weekend & dropped by my place to show it off.
He's planning on attending & has an Italian Sports Car alternative to his teal Taurus this time.

BTW, He's just located a distributor shaft for his 308, so there's a good chance he may get it running in time!

John and Verell,

Wonderful news and glad you both cane make it!!! :-)

Guess your food request means i won't be cooking up a storm like before eh? Well, have a feeling you guys will trash my place unless i make those patented toasted garlic rolls. Will make A LOT this time as you guys suck them down like candy! :-)

So.. i'll supply the garlic rolls, wine, espresso/cappuccino, and cigars. i COULD get those steaks again and make those too :-) Let me know if you want those steaks cool dudes. Those i get custom from a butcher friend.

We need: Beer, salad, chips, other munchies, beer... oh, and did i mention beer? LOL

Festivities start at 12pm on Saturday October 25th here at my place. If anyone needs directions, etc, e-mail me at [email protected]

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

Steven,
I've juggled my calendar to make sure I can make the 25th.

BTW, when you get a chance, let us know what time you'd like half the Ferraris in New England to descend upon thee...

Also, would be happy to bring something so you don't have to cover everything...

Hey Verell,
You're right....maybe I needed a 2 seater subconsciously because if my fear of becoming a dad or something? Nothing against the Mondial but if I get a 4 seater I want a 550 like Mr. Doody's!! (I even like the color...) Not likely I will be able to afford one until 2019 or so when they are somewhat less expensive!

Jonathan,
Quit Bitchn about the # of seats you bought. We all know that you knew you were going to need more than 2 seats when you bought the 'Damn car'.

As I recall, at one point it was a race as to whether the car or Elise was delivered 1st(LOL).

Gee, if you'd bought a Mondial it would have accomodated your expanded family, with room for future family growth(Heheheh).

Maybe if Christine asked Cindy real nicely, she'd watch the baby for the 25th. Of course you'd still have to get Elise here...

Hey Steven,
We're going to try to be there! Damn car only has two seats...you would think you would get more seats for the money! Now that I'm a dad we have to find a babysitter!

Hello from Milan Italy!

OK, will keep the date solid and whoever shows up has fun and cigars and wine and food and music and.... :-)

Will be in Maranello on Saturday BTW. Verell, fully understand about mjr and KTR is doing that to the 308 i have fun in while i am here. This way i have ZERO downtime PLUS the weather in NH is not the best for driving right now. Hope the storm does not do any damage!

The weather here in Milan is WONDERFUL!

Ok, sorry and my apologies for rubbing it in yet i LOVE Italy!!!

Vita Bella. Me Amore!

I'm interested, but can't committ to any date due to a couple of potential conflicts.

The annual 'Friends of Ferrari' get-together is in Oct, & I haven't found out the date. Don't have the host's name, so I have to wait for his mailing. Usually it's around Columbus day, so shouldn't be a problem.

I've also promised to help someone do his major in Oct, & that'll also take a couple of week-ends that aren't yet scheduled.
