We all would like a monthly gathering. I'm shooting for the 1st Sat of every month. Though, I'm not sure what the dates are for Dec or Jan yet. We will know pretty soon. There are several problems with plannig get-togethers with the FCA. First, it's a pretty long lead time to get things in the Bulletin (which is pretty much manditory). Second, permission must come from the SE Chairman. Third, a mailing must be done, and you would not believe the red tape involved with this. As chapter president, I had to resort to getting a member's list through the FCA black market (not much exageration), and that only happened after 10 months of working at it. Then you have the gathering places. It is not easy to get the main folks to agree on a date. It's like pulling teeth. Not-lastly, a great deal of members are only interested in the high dollar, tuxedo events. And these are the only ones that will be officially sponsored by FCA or FNA. There are so many folks that just plain do not want to be contacted any way except by mail. Even keeing an e-mail list is darn near impossible as addresses change all of the time and no one notifies you. If you will read some of the other posts, you will see where I have requested the help of someone to be the GA Webmaster. No response at all. So many think the FCA in this area is an old club. My belief is that that club is dead and that a new one must be rebuilt. Positive attitudes are manditory. |

I was planning on going but tickets to the Georgia-Alabama game were available. I heard it was great. I would like to see more small gatherings on a more frequent basis, that is all. Clark |

Clark - There is a FCA Georgia Chapter. And without trying to step on any toes, it has been lame the last 3 years I've been in. We are trying real hard to change that for 2003 (all new management). Be patient. Did you go to ICD? If you didn't, you missed the big one. |

You're not alone, Clark. I've been a member for over ten years and no emails. |

If you are a Georgia FCA Member and did not receive an e-mail direct from Marc Kilburn about the Andretti Speed Lab/Dinner deal, that means we don't have your e-mail address. Please send me your e-mail address even if you are not a current member, but would like to be in the loop. Mailto:[email protected] |
