Hey Johnny, we went to dinner at Cavallino in Palm Beach a few years back with Michael N. How are you ? welcome to FChat.

I am looking for a convertible for Miami, Minis are all over & the Vette is SOOOO much sexier than a Mini or a screwbaru :-)

My mechanic has my C3 on the back back back burner, gonna have to move it to a new shop if I want to see it running this decade i think

Mini Cooper S or a C5. The C4 looks so dated.

If you can find one then a '96 LT-4 Vette might be the best one to check into. Around 330hp stock vs. I think 300hp. in the standard LT-1's. The LT-4 came in the Gran Sport, Collector's Edition (6-spd only), and then just some regular C4's as an option I believe. I was looking for a C4 a few years ago and wanted a silver/red Collectors Edition. Nice cars, but the interior looks pretty dated even by GM standards. Either way from what I've read they're pretty stout cars...GM drivetrain which is about as reliable as it gets. :-)

I've had 2 C4's in the past, an 84 & 85. Very reliable, quick, easy to work on , handled pretty good . Of course, theres a bunch of go-fast parts for them :-)

How's your C3 coming along ?

ZR1s? Best bang for your buck, I started a thread on one a while back.

Subaru WRX's are the same $ as a Cooper S, and can be a lot of fun, if you're looking in the low $20k's it's definitely a bargain. STi is supposed to be even better.

If you're going for the pimpin' on da beach style though, the Vette might be the best deal/$$.

I was thinking of a new car to drive to law school & around Miami Beach instead of my Chevy Tahoe. thought about a Mini S then I started thinking what I could get for the same or less $ that would be 1) cool 2) reliable 3) fun

Bingo, Corvette roadster :-) Found a sweet silver one with a red interior that I will take a look at soon. Anybody here have a C4 ?
