OK, what about Amsoil as a business? Is it real, or just another MLM like Amway (hmm, both Amsoil and Amway begin with AM- any relation?) Is it a legitimate business?

Keep an eye on here:
http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stories/oil-life.html

All oil benefits from a top up here and there, in between samples and with filter changes. In ideal conditions, yeah, a syn will go 25k miles.

Here's another link as well:
http://cjsupra.kendra.com/oil-spec.html

I used Amsoil but achieved the same results with Mobil 1 15w50 which is about half the price, which means I can change it out more frequently which means changing a syn as frequently or more than regular oil including filter ultimately means the best hope of my engine going to 200k the way I abuse it on F-chat drives!! hehe

Anyone else have oil analysis reports to share?

One of my friends uses it for the LS1 in his camaro SS. after 25,000, yes tewnty five thousand miles, the he sent it out to a lab for analysis and the oil was in good condition and was not even at the end of its useable life yet, although getting close the lab said. It was comparable to oil with a few thousand miles on it. I have the report. if i can find it i will post it.

Does anybody use Amsoil? Are there any dealers here?

My understanding that it is a decent motor oil. I don't know how it compares to Mobil1 or other synthetics.

From what I've heard it is basically a MLM setup. Supposedly, though, a lot of guys sign up as dealers to have a motorsports related business and the tax advantages thereof.

Any opinions on this?

Dom
