Hmmmm, US government to ban porn, its just a rumour that they've started to force people to panic buy porn! Great way to help out the economy though.
Damm you guys are lucky to get that stuff at all, every other European country can get decent satellite porn, but not the UK...........

Rape porn and teen (18&19 year olds) is really common over Japan and some other Asian countries. Before you go and say that the women were pretending to be younger, that's not the case at all. The may do that creepy baby fetish stuff, but that's not illegal. Not sure what it is about diapers that does it for some, just seems creepy to me.

By the way Thomas, thanks for all the links.

Green, you're a dip$hit. You post tons of crap, most of it useless dribble. If you want to post some thing like this, provide a link. It's not that challenging.

As far as my feelings on this? I think it's a waste of tax dollars. But I also feel marijuana should be legal. I'm a big fan of rights, and a bigger fan of punishing people who violate others rights or endanger others.

The show aired last night. The producer doesn't always do run-of-the-mill porn. There are several reasons why this company's principals were indicted:

1) To meet the legal definition of obscenity, a film has to depict sex in an offensive and prurient fashion with no artistic value. It is this subjectivity that worries some in the industry, though this company did films others avoided.

2) Adults posing as teens & rape porn. (Would life imitate art?)

3) PBS Frontline featured an interview with the producer where he dared the Government to do something to him.

4) Gov't obliged.

The company is "Extreme Entertainment":

The Frontline interview took place in May 2001, the indictments were handed down in August 2003 - "Rob Black":

"I watched a show on Niteline last night that talked about how the goverment is going after companys that make adult movies."

Is this BS or fact? I'm sure there would be a link to an article on the Fox News Channel site. Without a link to verify; any of Greens statements should usually be ignored.

Bruce and Ken: I've gotta side with DES, Art (just for responding to the actual question), and Mr Green on this one. Don't know why you guys would jump down his throat when he starts a legitimate thread like this. If you haven't noticed, it's quite a bit different than his previous stuff. Had it been anyone else, I doubt they would've been attacked for this one.

Now wait a minute... Green's got a good post here... If anyone else posted this (Dave, Art, et al) it would have a high rate of reply... Now i'm not defending him, but you gotta give credit where credit is due...

Ken, i have to wonder how you can say that, too - attorney or not. Pornography and crack are two completely different things... Crack is an illegal substance blah blah blah, pornography is perfectly legit (as long as it's not peddled/distributed from/to minors)...

What's wrong with pornography...? Unlike, let's say religion, Ron Jeremy is NOT standing on your street corner, trying to get you to buy his stuff...

Pornography is sex... Anything wrong with sex...? Anything wrong with someone having sex in the privacy of their own home...? Anything wrong with someone viewing (via video tape, DVD, internet, etc.) others having sex, still within the privacy of their own home...? Is it hurting anyone...? Are people dying from it...? Is it overwhelming addictive (in a crack-cocaine sort of way)...? No. Crack is different... i see nothing wrong with pornography and i agree with Green that 'crack'ing down on porn business is a fuckin' waste of taxes...

Now, Ken, let's talk taxes, 'cause you pay a shitload more taxes than dear ol' DES here... How do you feel about a big chunk of the money you make being hauled off to go fight wars with perfectly legal sex peddlers...? Sucks, huh...? i knew you'd see it from that angle... :-)

That's what you get when you elect a nutcase from the religious right, who appoints people like Ashcroft. There is a substnatial difference between crack dealers who sell to minors, among others, causing them to become addicted, and effectively ruining them.

Those who make porn sell to adults (any sales to minors should be illegl for the same reasons as the crack dealers should be jailed)

Take Van Nuys, CA one of the porn capitals of the world and where I grew up. Can you imagine what the area will be like if the porn is shut down? Much worse than it is - its already a shady and relatively poor area, when these businesses leave and people are out of work it may go downhill even more.

How about spending the money on education instead? Thanks A$$croft. After all, the Europeans can look at porn on regular television in the evenings, look how its affecting them and their young.. they're smarter and more cultured then we are!

Ken,

I think you were complimenting him when you implied he might have reached the level of algebra and not simple addition and subtraction.

Maybe we should also leave alone illegal arms dealers, as there will always be someone wanting their service.

Good point Mr. Green. Along those same lines, maybe we should leave crack dealers (business people) alone as well since people want those services.

Quit wasting our bandwidth. Don't you have some algebra homework to do?

I watched a show on Niteline last night that talked about how the goverment is going after companys that make adult movies. This is being led by U.S. Attorney John Ascroft. They shut down a company in SoCal last week and charged them with distribution of obscene materials. They were handed a 10 count federal indictment.

I feel that the goverment should not be spending
our tax dollars to go after business people for providing a service that people obviously want.
Nobody put's a gun to your head and makes you buy these movies. No wonder we have such a large deficit in this country.
