Those beers do pretty much suck overall, but look at how much they cost compared to "good" beer (years ago I worked in a restaurant that had 600 or so different beers at any given time so I've had more than my fair share of "good" beers). Besides now that the football season is underway nothing quite fits the bill like a cold (cheap) American lager :-)

I thought you were drinking beer.

Coors, Miller and Bud Light aren't beer. They're pretend beers. What would Enzo say?

Beer is a good thing. IMO whiskey is also a good thing. Put the two together and it is kind of like chocolate and peanut butter. It works for me.

Coors light sucks. Bud light is the way to go, especialy when 18 packs of bottles are on sale for $9.99.

Just got off the phone with Greg's secretary. He's been in trial all week long and the jury has been deliberating past 4 hours. If he wins, I can guarantee he'll be faced tonight. Actually, I guess if he looses too.

Rob:

This is actually a true story. It occurred in Petaluma about 25 years ago:

I was representing a business man who had had a prior problem with the law (caught for fraud). He'd been pretty straight, and started another business. It didn't work out, and he failed to make his deposits for their employment taxes, which at the time was a misdeamnor. He hired me to represent him in the criminal matter.

I'd been practing in San Francisco, and was somewhat fearful about going to a small town, and getting "hometowned". At any rate, I show up, make the appearance and find that the Judge used to represent my dad. They set another date, and the Judge, me, and the DA (who later became a Superior Court Judge in that County) plan on going to lunch before the court appearance to discuss the resolution.

The DA is insisting upon jail time, I insist that he repay the money, and no time. We go to lunch, which we proceed to drink and play liars dice. I can't lose for trying, and I'm thinking that if I want my client not to do time, I'd better start losing. I can't.

At any rate, about 2pm (one hour late) the three of us show up in court shitfaced. Judge says my client isn't going to jail, the DA pipes up that that may be true, but if I try to drive, I'm going away for DUI.

My friend takes depositions all the time from these guys who are trying to claim insurance after a fire, but the insurance company suspects something fishy. Anyway, he's told some crazy stories about when they come in for the deposition. Sometimes they'll come in with a six pack and just plop it on the table and start drinking away while he asks questions.

Little tangent, but the wildest happy hours I've been to are ones where the judge, lawyers, court reporters, and cops that testified are hanging out after a day in court.

I know a few lawyers who can't try cases sober (I'm not one of them).
