Those bottom two pics of the Supra remind me of a Retro-C3 Vette. |

Which pictures are you refering to?
Personally, I think the last one's not bad (for a Supra). The front end appears to have been inspired by the 2000GT. |

Ummm...no. It looks like a mid-engine exotic. It did, and still does.

William, >>The old Supra sort of looked like a really fat F40 that was left out in the sun too long & all the F40s fine lines melted into an F40 like blob<< That's an awesome assessment. Never thought of it that way...but I agree. Cheers |

Remember the NSX ? That looks like a regular Toyota. Will it hold its value. Of course the mechanic bill will be cheap. One other + You can forget ever reading your gauges again. You will not have to. |

If you look close at the attachment I posted- "Meanwhile, to spiff up the sporty image of the Toyota brand in the US, the Company plans to reintroduce the Supra at about the same time." Can't wait to see what that looks like. Another fast car, hopefully this time it will be a looker. |

Actually, after paying closer attention, I'm certain this isn't even a concept. It appears to be an artist's computer rendering of what he/she thinks the car might look like. No need for all of us (myself included) to get our panties in a twist. |

Well, this is a concept, and 90% of concept cars are wild, and look generally something like this. I'm sure it will be toned down a bit and will be "easier on the eyes" if it indeed reaches the public.

Yeah the MKIV Supra definitely has some 928 qualities to it. Both are very nice grand tourers too, but the Supra has what has to be one of the most capable power plants ever mass produced. I mean how many engines are able to lay down over 900rwhp on the stock block/internals? |

Taek- I'm one who definately considers the NSX an exotic. Those things rock. (esp the later cars with 3.2 litre motor, amazing performance really.) When it's all said though, it lacks the wail and panache of a flat crank v8. If it had 8 cyl (and even kept the same power, which moves it quite well somehow.) and just a little more craziness, then I doubt those owners would be dubing it merely a 'near' exotic. Maybe the NSX makes just a little too much 'sense'... I think that is what really defines an exotic to me, how insane the designer must have been to produce it Best! Ben. |

Not to hijack here, but with regards to the Supra, i was looking at one last night (taking pictures for the bird) and from the side, it had some very familiar lines... ...anyone else see a bit of a 928/944 in the lines of the Supra...? Just wondering... |

Not terrible looking, but certainly not very original. Toyota has a good eye for sports cars...even as far back as the 2000GT of the 60's...but overall has a tendency to be a bit bland. Hopefully they'll resurrect the Supra and improve on the design, but if that is what they hope to do it with then they better get back to the drawing board.... |

Is that a maxi-maxi-maxi-pad where the drivers seat should be? Particularly in regards to the spoileroof, I suppose one could offer false compliments like "Well, I've never seen anything quite like it!" Overall 1st impression: Should never have gone past prototype stage. |

Dan, i agree; if it's got 1st class power, many people won't care if it's got second rate looks (just my opinion on the looks)... i'll concede that it's a great car if it owns up the claimed numbers but it's definitely not on my wanted list in my profile... |

Let me tell you this - regardless of whether it looks like a loaf of bread on wheels - if it's got Gallardo performance for 100k out of the box, there will be hell to pay! This thing will seriously make everyone run for their money if it's true. Here's to hoping the competition gets scared stiff! The badge snobs will ignore it even if it has merit (as they do the NSX - which is one of the greatest cars of modern time). As Jeremy Clarkson once put it: "The Supercars games are about to get *real* interesting!" --Dan |

When Toyota breaks the dumb Japan "less then 300hp rule" Geltemens Agreement crap.... I'm sure Honda will drop a 500HP in their second Gen. NSX Toyota may finally push Honda into up-dating the NSX, which has been long awaited. Then everyone will have a 500hp car -FORD,VW,TOYOTA,HONDA,Dodge

Hopefully the car will be a performer and the looks will be overshadowed. I wish one of these companies made a supercar/exotic that's reliable to show the world that it can be done. I know the NSX is borderline exotic, but I know of a lot of NSX owners who themselves don't consider the capable car an exotic. Maybe the number of cylinders? Wonder what the missing ingredient is... Cheers |

This is what I see--Toyota Celica meets Dodge Intrepid. Not exactly the stuff great exotic car designs are made of.
