JRV/Captain-Save-A-Ho,

Whoever said Astroglide was a gay product anyway?
......besides yourself?

Huhhhh...you're the purveyor of astroglide sport not me...{:-)}

Just mildly curious in a funny sorta way about your gay lifestyle...that's all.

I think it's a fair assumption at this point that the entire penis pic collection wasn't only DES's...someone must have helped him with the hours of collecting it took...and your fixation with gay products seems to point to you as a very willing collector helper...

JRV/Captain Save-A-Ho,

It is interesting how your instinctive response is defined by homosexual overtones. Could this explain your disdain toward women?

Hey DL,

have to admit I have no clue what astroglide is.

Is it a gay thing or do you think I could ask my women friends and they might know??

BTW: that was FEMALE Butt Print Oil...

Omar,

>>(used that bug/tar stuff)<<

Which brand did you use? Did you try some that didn't work? Might have to park one of my cars outside and being a married man there is a dearth of JR's patented assprint oil in my household and I would like to stock some of this stuff. My wife is impeccably devoid of an oily complexion and should I leave my own assprint on the car I'm afraid I'd melt the paint entirely to bare metal, and on the Corvette it would eat right through the fiberglass too! I do have some stubborn dead bugs on my car I'd like to get rid of.

Cheers

I use Butt Print Oil...a little tender soft pressure ....combined with body heat & the oil, softens the tree sap right up...and leaves an incredible shine when wiped off...

Be careful. Clay will definetly add swirl marks to the car, which you will have to subsequently polish out with an abrasive.

If it comes down to it just use Dawn liquid soap (higher alkaline content) then use something like Clay Magic or something similar which will remove anything on the car's finish. Claying the car will remove anything that has embedded itself in the paint.

If none of these work - you may have to ice the sap to pop it off. This must be done with *extreme* caution. I did it on a stubborn stubborn piece on my m5, and it worked fine, but I know of people who didn't ice it enough, some who weren't gentle enough, etc.

One of the products I use when detailing cars is right off the shelf.

Turtle Wax Bug & Tar and Tree Sap remover.

It emulsifies the sap without harming the paint, especially soft Ferrari enamel. Clear coats are no problem. $7K paint job only narrows it down to a few types if paint.

Sap can fall on paint several ways. There's the tiny little droplett(s) that is still soft. Using a cotton cloth, dab it up, then clean up the rest of the sap residue with the sap remover. Use clean areas of the rag each time until the sap is completely gone.

The annoying pines can "vomit" a slew of sap all over the car. Usually this is from a broken branch or limb. When you have this type of situation, you are going to go through many rags. First, dab up as much of the soft sap as you can, to get the bulk of the sap off the car. With a sweeping motion, using sap remover, wipe and remove the sap toward one direction making the sap blotch smaller and smaller until it is no more.

Sap that has dried white and chaulky, you will have to work at it in small areas. You must let the product emulsify the sap soft again, otherwise you will "sand" your paint with the sap. Not a good thing.

After you have removed all the sap, Polish if you like. Re-apply your wax.

Hope this helps.

Hi Martin

Did you fix all the paint dings from Vancouver? I picked up over 50 on Hwy 20 going over the pass. So depressed I'm just going to wait until winter to fix.

Omar,

Depends on the tree type? Start with bug and tar remover. Purchase at auto parts store.

Damn it, my 6er (E24 633CSi) needed new brakes and a AC recharge so I left it with my good friend and mechanic to work on.

Mind you I just spend 7 grand on a repaint for this car.

Well, he left her outside....which is no problem, and in the shade...which is no problem..save the f@$#in tree saped her up on on the hood and such.

I'm upset...I MUST clean her. I MUST make her perfectly clean again.

Help??
