JRV, jaded or not, the experience you speak from is experience i've alrady surpassed... i've been there, done that, know where you're coming from and i'm trying to explain to you that the direction you're headed is not one i think you'll enjoy... Granted, you're not me and might even prefer to look at women the way you do... My whole angle is that while you think i'm a twat for being a 'nice guy', i'm trying to explain to you that you don't need power or money to attract the type of women you want...

Green,

"the game is life and the persuit of happiness"...to refuse to play is to admit defeat, to admit one is a loser and has no chance !!!

at that point...what?

Most choose to learn the rules, prepare and adapt accordingly to Win !

Did you call your friend back yet, tell her your sorry, and that you'll never let yourself say mean things or have mean thoughts about her ever again ?

and follow up by buying her things to show your sincerity?

>>if you'll admit that you're referring to a small percentage of women and making it look like the entire female population, <<<

DES, face it...for every "good looking, desirable" woman there is MUCHO compitition...

Our culture and it's people of both sex's evolve thru the influence and interaction with others...more or less a social set of "market forces" at work & constantly in play. Those 'market forces' and the compitition that is part of those market forces are the driving forces we ALL have to contend with and "adapt to" if we want to be competitive in the "mating game".

Yes there are sweet good girls that are beautiful, desirable, totally selfless in relationships and friendships....however, they are the minority, not the majority, because good looks throws them into play by the horn dog compitition that unfortunately for guys like you outnumber each desirable woman by about 100 to 1.

So the sooner a guy like yourself can come to terms with "THE RULES", the better off you will be. Reason is, while you are blowing the I'm a nice guy trumpet, the other Horn Dog competitors are dissin you to the women calling you a wussy, and explaing to the cooch why they are a much better choice. The joke is, when vying for a womans attention, "First Liar Does'nt Stand a Chance", and that's the facts!

{:-)}

And it's not that I have been jaded..it's called "experience"...when one is willing to take risk, one has risk exposure, (which you are trying to insulate yourself from) and by accepting that risk exposure one frees themselves up to get in the mix and gain valuable "experiences" that are what Data Bases are all about, that leads to logged problem solving information to then be used to accomplish 'goal realization'. Which in many cases is women friends that one does have sex with!

JRV, if you'll admit that you're referring to a small percentage of women and making it look like the entire female population, i'll agree with you... i know there are women out there like that, but not all of them... Not most of them... Just a percentage... A small percentage... Of which, you've probably been directly affected by; you and Arlie... Get some treatment, fellas...

Go over there, say you're sorry, slip her a mickey, do her buns up kneeling screaming face in the pillow, sell the video, don't let Dog catch you in Puerta Vallarta.

Arlie,

Great news!! The local Hot Springs market over there is issuing coupons for the "Rub and Tug" on the back of the receipt tape (since Bill moved to New York they need the business). Those girls never care how much of a hater you are.

Arlie,

I'm not buying this "I just like girls cause I like girls" bs these jokers are throwing. Guys either want to get laid or they have issues. All they refuse to admit is that they think their technique will bring them to pay day faster/better than some other techniques and/or they simply cannot adapt to the many forms "playing the game" demands.

DES, talking, taking pictures, interacting is not about validating ones manhood (to most of us) it's about accomplishment and goal realization. If one refuses to be self honest and admit they want to Tag & Bag or Tag & Release (in my case) then they are either in denial or afraid their goals cannot be accomplished and thus find excuses to mask their fears.

LMAO, JRV...!

Yes, i whole-heartedly agree, there are plenty of women out there who will all but flash you the cooter for some of the money and power you may have; however, please acknowledge that ALL WOMEN are not like this... Only a few... You're taking a small percentage of women and focusing on them like they count for the entire female population...

Please show me where i said i don't want sex; i like to pop on off with the best of 'em, but i don't need to make it a constant public statement, subconsciously validating my manhood...

Rejection...? LOL, i'm sure i know more about rejection than most of you, but that would make me bitter, now wouldn't it (Example: Arlie's comments)...? So, no, i'm not a nice guy to help me cope with rejection, i'm a nice guy 'cause i'm a nice guy...

i know more than a few women who aren't tickled one bit by a man with money or power (or a woman with money and power for that matter)...

i'm not in a 'phase', either... i'm already beyond that 'nice-guys-finish-last' mentality i was once stuck in; i'm on a new level and trying to show some of you where it is, but you keep averting your attention (to the girls in bikinis)...

>>The most popular thread on the board right now is the 'Ferrari Bikinis' thread, <<

DES, didn't it sink in yet what the one common denominator in the Bikini thread is???? Besides all the T & A...

Money and power Attract Beautiful Women like magnets and they will gladly get "their Booty on Duty" to attract the attention of those with Money & Power, they show the goods to attract what attracts them....a simple exchange of what each most wants and/or seeks.

Sex is genetically imprinted DES, so unless you've been surgicaly or chemicaly altered in some way or born a mutant...then even you want Tang. So be honest...after all were all guys here (except for the known exceptions of course J.'oh for example), you want some nookie and have simply adopted thew nice guy persona to alleviate the need to deal with rejection...it's OK man...we all go thru phases, some wake up, some don't and still others don't have to.

Arlie, i'm not ignoring anything; why do you continue to associate a favor with some woman being with another man while you "clean the grease out of your fingernails"...? i have plenty of female friends that i do favors for that i have no interest in fornicating with and don't care if i help them just to see them go off and spend time with another man... Think about what you're saying (admitting) here... Don't do a favor hoping you'll get something in return, that's not being a 'nice guy' at all... You've got some seriously repressed relationship issues you should work on... So, back to my last question: are you divorced...?

I've seen PLENTY of my former classmates, co-workers, relatives, friends, etc, enter into wonderful meaningful relationships only to have their naieve dreams smashed to pieces by the love of their life. And to add insult to injury, they usually loose alot of their money in the courtroom. Gives you a nice warm feeling about humanity doesn't it. Nice guys finish last. Keep your guard up.

DES said: "that statement tells me that you'll only do a 'favor' for a female friend (if you even have any) hoping for something in return - most likely, some sort of sex."

But you are still ignoring the fact that they/she ARE USING you and they are NOT driving over to your house after you were nice enough to help them out. I say, if she's got some wonderful guy across town that she's so eager to drive over and spend her time with, the let HIM get his hands greasy and fix her car for her. I'll pass.

Arlie, that statement tells me that you'll only do a 'favor' for a female friend (if you even have any) hoping for something in return - most likely, some sort of sex.

If some "genuinely nice guy" got taken to the cleaners via divorce, etcetera, then something went wrong down the line... There are no certainties in life sans death and taxes; we're talking about nice guys meeting women and nice guys dating women and so forth - start a new thread about divorce, i'll crash that one, too... :-)

"Be genuine and you shouldn't have a problem"

There are THOUSANDS, no, make that TENS OF THOUSANDS of guys who have been taken to the cleaners in divorce courts across the country who were "genuine" and "shouldn't" have had a problem. But people (women) can be ungratefull back stabbers who will hang you out to dry in a New York second if something better comes along.
While you're skipping down the yellow brick road with Dorothy and Toto, give my regards to Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

And since this IS a car forum, one lesson that I have learned. NEVER help a "nice" girl "friend" fix her car. After you've busted your knuckles and gotten youself filthy with grease and grime while doing the free repairs, she will be grateful enough to avoid shaking your greasy hand and pat you on the head, then hop in here nicely running automobile and drive over to some OTHER guy's house for an evening of fun while YOU spend the rest of the night scraping the grease out from under your fingernails. There now, don't you feel all warm and comfy knowing that you helped a "friend"? LOSER!!!!

LOL, JRV, you're the second person to post that directly for me; i saw it last year when someone posted it;i read it and it's complete crap... It's from the mentality of some insecure man who always feels like he's getting the shaft (there's a joke in there somewhere) and all he wants is some nookie...

i'm genuine to all who i meet; without disclosing intimate details or having to air my laundry on a public internet forum, i can die in the truth that being a nice guy doesn't mean you won't get what you want - being fake will take care of that for you.

i'm no Don Juan, by any means; i don't have much to offer and i'm certainly not attractive, but i'm genuine and that counts for more than any charm anyone can throw on when they meet a woman... The most popular thread on the board right now is the 'Ferrari Bikinis' thread, of which, you're a heavy contributor; no surprise that you would have that 'Intellectual Whores' link handy to pass out... :-)

Ok... Here's this nice-guys-finish-last crap again...

For those of you who are being nice someone merely because you're hoping you'll get some 'play', stop it. If she's the one and you want more than a little bedtime bonanza, let her know; tell her she's the one; trust me.

Women aren't stupid; they can see when you're being nice to them just because you want to get closer... Be genuine and you shouldn't have a problem... If being nice is who you genuinely are, then no, you're not going to appeal to the women who like wild men- sorry, it just won't happen. You will, however, appeal to the women who like nice men.

"Geez, it's as simple as that...?"

Yes.

Be yourself, not who you think she wants you to be just to get some venus guy trap.

So you are just friends?

"Friends. You mean she is just your friend? So you have become a mere emotional tampon she uses four or five days a month when no-one else will take her bullsh*t? BUT you don't fu*k! Is that right? Yeah...friends" --- Sam Kinison

"This is a platonic relationship I had with a women."

Translation: She thinks that you're a loser and she's getting it on with everybody except you.

John,

Well if that is YOUR sheep, he is going to owe you an apology too! HE just keeps digging himself a deeper hole in here.

"Mr. Green:

Promise him that next time he asks, you'll give him the reach around."

Not to worry! Sargeant Hartman will make sure he offers the reach around next time.

David,

He said it was platonic. BTW, The TALKING inflatable matable (with the optional recording of the "When Harry met Sally" deli scene) costs extra...but they still don't care what you say to them.

If they cared, I would have advised him to go back to sheep.

If you left a message on her phone that you wished you hadn't, you might want to drop her a note, make your apologies, and see what happens. Since it was a woman, who you are not in a relationship with, maybe this will be sufficient.

As to what you said, since you haven't told us the specifics its hard to tell how she'll take it. If you have an excuse for your behavior, I'd tell her what the excuse was, and maybe that'll soften the blow. Honesty is the best policy.

I guess i'm even more confused than you. I thought you were talking about falling out of your car. I had a great uncle, Phil, who drove a DeSoto (with the pushbutton transmission). For some peculiar reason, he had a phobia about getting trapped in the car during an accident. For this reason, he would drive with the door ajar and his hand on the armrest holding the door close to the car. When making left hand turns, the door would swing open, and he would pull it back.
As to his lovelife, he dated the same woman for over 50 years. He would drive to her place, across town, every Saturday nite. I can't ask him for advice however, since he has passed on...

Well, first off, you didn't accidently say something bad about her......It was an accident that you were recorded saying it... :-) 1st step, take responsibility.........2nd step, apologize. Assuming you didn't say anything too heinous, tell her nothing is too blame but your own insecurity, immaturity, and callousness.........be sincere, and she'll probably forgive you...........good luck

Philip,

This is a platonic relationship I had with a women. By accident I said some bad things about her on her phone machine. Now I'm trying to figure out how to handle this.

Mr. Green,

How long was the relationship....were they married, dating, engaged....is it between a man and a woman....is your friend the man or the woman....what was the falling out about...what is their age...do they live together..........impossible to answer your question without you answering most of these......for those who would really want to help.....
