United is slowly on the way up. Management is getting smarter. If you want a good, slow, investment, put money in United. They will recover!

I'm not stock savy nor do I pretend to be connected on the inside. That being said, I purchased Continental and American Airlines a few months ago. They are doing well, I think with the exception of UAL they are all doing pretty well. That's my stock tip.

It's got a p/e of 45, which I consider high, it pays a dividend of 3.3%. Est. earnings for this quarter are -.12, est. for next quarter are .17.

Ford, I haven't researched at ALL, know nothing about, but based on their recent offerings and sales numbers I'd say short it ;)

The last time I followed advise on purchasing stock from some of you guys, which was many moons ago, the stock has almost tripled. Never had the chance to thank you guys. Wish I bought more.

I made almost $1,000 from reading a copy of WIRED mag, gonna have to get this months copy & invest more heavily this time :-)
They are talking about artificial diamonds at $5 per carat, GE used to make them, probably still do. OF course DeBeers would have you believe you must pay $100s per carat but they made a backroom deal with GE to keep GEs artifiicial diamonds off the jewelry market.

DeBeers tried the same thing with some Russian diamond mines but I'm not sure how that turned out

WH..With all of the casinos in close proximities to drive to, I do not feel this is much of an issue. In bad economic times, one should invest in smokes, booze and gambling stocks.

1 potential problem for IGT is that people are much more reluctant to travel now. I think Vegas is just recovering from Sept 11 , 2001. Of course if indian gaming catches on in more states it will help IGT, but even IGT needs juice to run its machines so we are back to Hubbell to get the juice to the casino :-)

I just rolled half of my IRA portfolio in IGT, International Gaming Technolog. Extremely solid company. They are the largest mfr of video slot machines. With the Indian Gaming picking up steam in the US coupled with the demand for theme games, there is no end in sight for this company. Their competition is minor and EBITDA is excellent.

At the peril of beating my own drum :-) Hub.b is a good stock to buy now, its around $39 on the NYSE. The recent blackout in the Northeast should help propel Hubbell higher cus you know the politicians are going to be running over each other trying to renew the electrical grid & Hubbell just so happens to make about 90% of the equipment needed for all sorts of high power transmission lines in its A.B. Chance division.
You'll also be supporting my racing team :-)
