It was at Lime Rock this past weekend on display as Bugatti was one of the sponsors. Looks better in person. |

I saw it at the huge VW showroom in Berlin (near Checkpoint Charlie). It was the only car they wouldn't let you sit in (or even touch). It looks fabulous close up. |

Mark, "These colors make the car look less like a cartoon" Funny you should say that. My initial reaction in seeing this picture (and before reading your post) was that this car looks cartoonish! Like something you might see in a Chevron commercial...

That is a Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron. 8 liter,16 cylinder, Quad turbocharged engine, producing 1000 (one thousand!) Horsepower!!!! Bugatti claims that it is capable of 250MPH speeds!! 0 to 60 in the high 2 second range!! Price? $1,200,000.00 !!($1.2 MILLION!! SHEEE-...!) It is the cover car of the September 2003 copy of DuPont Registry Auto magazine. They have a story about it on page 84. |

AutoWeek just ran an update about it. Bugatti president Karl-Heinz Neumann has been fired due to delays in the program. It should have been in production already, but is at least 12 months behind schedule. Problems behind the delay have to do with reliability of the 8.0 liter W16 engine and 7-speed gearbox. |

It looked so bad in red & black colors, I skipped over that thread. These colors make the car look less like a cartoon, and it caught my eye. |

I like it! Finally, a new car without hard lines and angles. |

Bugatti? Anyone know about this? Is it a concept car? Or production?
