Just got back from my weekend trip from Phx to Elephant Butte Lake NM and back almost 1000 miles of driving. On the way out there on NM hwy 26 between Deming and Hatch saw the most spectacular rainbow form beside the road. unfortunatly the picture does not do it any favors. (could be the fact that i was driving 80 MPH at the time)
Any how the reason for my trip was to take my jet ski out there for one last ride and put in storage at my lake house. Except there was one problem The lake was almost empty. This is a picture of Rattle Snake Island, except you can now drive out to the island and past it!!!
This is a picture of the main marina where i took this picture at was at the normal water level for the lake. The white line on the rocks in the back ground is the normal water level for this lake. from what i understand if the lake drops another 15' the marina will have its own private lake since the main body of the lake will be separated.
I cannot belive it i move out and in 4 years the place falls apart!!!
