Kds, most modern buildings are up to code and older buildings (like my house) receive lots of updates and new Hurricane Impact Windows that will protect from Hurricanes. My windows will not be installed until the first week of October though My warehouse is out west and is well protected. I actually put cars in there if need be from others as well. Concrete ceilings. Fabian is gone and not a Florida storm although I feared that it could well become one. Poor guys in Bermuda. The biggest problem here is the tidal waves that come with Hurricanes. I live on Miami Beach, which is a barrier island and only a few feet off sea-level. I live on a Lagoon and am on high tide about 3-4 feet over the tide line. In hurricane conditions the tidal wave can reach 18feet above normal, so picture my house about 5 feet under water In a direct hit at a category 4 or 5 we are just toast and no protection will save you then.

I'm just leaving the Integra outside in hope that it catches a big pine tree . We have had enough rain here for everyone. This tropical storm is about to hit tonight right here on the Gulf Coast. Good luck to you guys over there on the other side. |

Since Hurricane Fabian is about to dump a forecasted 15" of rain into the state what preventative measures do you have to do, if any, to protect your Ferrari's etc, from possible damage ? Martin...what can you do for inventory ? Are your buildings to a certain code..etc ? I've been to MIA in the rain...but never seen anything like this. |
