>>It's missing a V-12 and a song to these ears.<< f1 cars seem to sound alright w/ the vanilla v10. I think the induction noises are fantastic. anyway, here are some more sound files. listen to the one entitled "accelerating" sounds good to me. http://www2.us.porsche.com/english/usa/carreragt/modelinformation/experience/sounds/default.htm |

It sounds as though the microphone is located in the egnine bay not near the exhaust. This can totally change the sound. I have run the micropone in the back of my cabin on the M5 club racer and in the engine compartment. Totally different sounds. In the engine compartment you hear all the mechanical noises and the gearbox sounds. Not the same as what a bystander would hear coming out the exhaust. Regards, Jon P. Kofod 1995 F355 Challenge #23

Apparently the test driver claimed that the car was good for a 7min 30second lap of the Nordschleife - on road tyres. Expected production is estimated at around 500 cars per year. |

Hmmmm, I was fortunate enough to be behind one of those at a stoplight when they were doing some testing out west, and when it took off it sounded jaw-dropping (nothing like the video - I wonder if the cameras couldn't pick up the low end sound or something). Thanks for the post though - fun to see... |

One of the better sounding P-cars I've heard, but still not my thing. Looks crazy-fast though! Atually looks like the car is both very light, and very powerful. Coming out of turns, it's clearly a struggle to put all the power down (not to slight the car at all, it's going VERY FAST!) It's missing a V-12 and a song to these ears. Best! Ben. |

A CGT does a snowy lap around Weissach (I believe). IMHO it sounds terrible...like a lawnmower or something. Sorry if it's a repost. http://193.175.6.226/all/carreragt/modelinformation/experience/weissach/directorscut_dsl.wmv |
