This thing will probably stand up to an Enzo performance wise in some aspects...well certainly in a straight line (1/4 mile, but not top speed) and possibly on a auto-x course as well albeit not for very long...and definitely off road (can't beat AWD for that of course & the Enzo isn't even close to being made for it either). Ok, maybe it won't outperun an Enzo at Laguna Seca, but it certainly would beat it to and from the grocery store

Let's not forget that awd DSM's are still very competitive in SCCA rally racing. The drivetrain they use is the same as the Lancer Evo I-III (the Evo IV-VIII is slightly different) which were very competitive in international FIA rally racing as well. Not to mention the fastest street car (including many exotics) time around Tsukaba circuit in Japan is by a Lancer Evolution (it could have changed by now). Granted it's quite modified, but so are all the cars that compete for the bragging rights. It's a totally different bag than what the Enzo was intended for, but still very competent cars. |

QUOTE:"For the price of the car, and the 8k in the engine, you could have bought a real car. " First of all, its not MY car, I didn't buy it and second, tell me have you driven one of these? They are light, have a nice chassis and handle nicely considering this ones set up for drag, and there is hardly any car that will do the quarter mile in 10 seconds for 10K. I wouldn't think there is much in that price range that would be more fun to drive, AWD 500 plus HP, light, nice chassis, good grip... |

It might be faster in a quarter mile, but who cares? What skill is there other than timing the light and shifts? For the price of the car, and the 8k in the engine, you could have bought a real car. |

My $30K EVO-8 out-brakes an Enzo (from 60; from 80 the more expensive brakes come into their own). The EVO doesn't quite corner as well as the 328, but it's close (fatter tires on the EVO). But the EVO can out-accel and out-brake the 328, and can handle the torn-up "special stages" in the road construction areas. I love my Ferrari, but rice is nice, too. But I don't expect the EVO to be running when it's a decade and a half old. |

Turbo DSM's are no joke. The 4G63 under the hood is the same engine as the Lancer Evo I-III and is certainly one of the more capable 4cyl. out there. The tranny is the real weak link (at least in the awd cars), but if built well they'll do alright. Dollar for dollar DSM's are hands down the best performance bargain out there right now as there are TONS of parts available, years and years of tuning knowledge out there, and mods are very cheap to buy. I have a Galant VR-4 (very rare precursor to the Lancer Evolution) which is the Japanese built (better quality) 4-door cousin to the US built DSM's so I'm pretty familiar with the potential. Granted these cars are in a totally different league than the Enzo, but there's something fun about getting huge performance gains (both in a straight line and around turns) for very little money. |

Ferraris arn't drag racers put it on a real track ( like Laguna secca) see witch one comes in first. But on the other hand it is amazing how cheaply you can build 10 second cars nowadays. |

Well obviously that title was meant to stir up controversy, but my cousin just bought a used NSX and he only has space for one car at his condo building, so I'm storing his 10 second Eagle Talon TSI turbo...its crazy, AWD and does the quarter mile in 10.77, it is truly faster than an Enzo! Kind of neat to think about...and the best part is, he only has about 10K into it, 2K for the car, 8K in the engine and huge wide tires. Its pretty wild... |
