Yup, bought it new 2 months ago and I love it. I was banging my head against the wheel trying to log the 1000 break-in miles so I could open it up. The day I hit 1000 I drove past my usual exit and hit Alligator Alley. After the first 8 minutes at 160 it gets kind of boring.

Adam, ditto on the nice collection. When I was checking out your WCC pics my fiance commented that we shared a "similar sickness"
SJB.

Warren.....I used to sell these new for 7 years. The 2002 is one fast car in it's own right and "today" probably represents, a great, "heavily discounted" value over a 2003......but, having said that, there's something to be said for the 2003's powerplant......yikes !!! Almost 50% more HP.

You'll love the 2002....until you get to drive the one with the big motor.

For me the decision would be $$$ difference.

I drove both cl55 and cl600 and went for the cl55. It's an amazing car and the supercharger truly is "seamless". Hp are similar but Cl55 much better perfomer plus you have all the AMG enhancements, i.e. brakes, wheels, etc.

Thanks Adam. Yeah I'll stay away from this one.

OK, I think Mercedes needs to calm down. First 390+ HP on the 2002 CL600 than 400+ on the '03 CL600 now ?????? on the CL65 amg???? Soon there will be many wealthy grandmas and grandpas driving their MB and spinning their tires and kicking our F-'s ASSES.

Adam- in any event, it's seen way too many 'inspections' in 1 year of existance.

My bet, this car was stolen, or wrecked, or both.

Best!
Ben.

big difference in price as they will probably be 150-175K and I am sure they will have a long wait. Buy the CL600 or a CL55 and upgrade later.

Warren:

If you can swing it, wait until the CL65 starts showing up next year.

DONT BUY THIS CAR, it has an odometer rollback issue.

CARFAX searched more than 2.16 billion records from more than 4,000 different public and private sources and found 7 record(s) for this 2002 MERCEDES BENZ CL600 (WDBPJ78J12A016558).

Hi Warren. You may also want to check the MBWorld.org forums (in case you haven't already). I have not driven, but the feedback I have seen is that the extra horsepower indeed makes a huge difference. The 03 AMGs are truly beasts!

Has anyone driven both of these cars yet? Does the added horsepower on the '03 make a huge difference? I'm considering an '02.

If anyone has a subscription to carfax can they email me a report for:
WDBPJ78J12A016558?

Thanks.
