Wonder how all the F car dealers who had to make huge expansions and investments to sell masers feel?

if luca is as smart as i think he is, he'll keep this relationship strictly audi-maser. diluting the ferrari brand with something like audi quattro technology probably wouldn't be a big win IMO. i'ts not like there aren't other techs they can just buy off the shelf to get AWD if that's what they really want.

and i doubt they really want it. fwiw, part of why i got rid of my 996tt was that i got sick of AWD - i wanted 2WD.

doody.

not so sure there's anything odd here.

developing new platforms gets more and more expensive. this is a rational business decision to help defray those sorts of costs.

porsche did it with vw on the cayenne/tourag because they couldn't have really afforded to do it themselves. i assume the same is true here.

a QP with audi quattro is the car for me! bring it on!

doody.

Hmmmm, Imagine that. I was with FoDallas for three years and sold Maseratis from their release there until May of this year when I moved to Audi. Are they coming back to haunt me or was my moving an omen of better things to come for Maserati????

I always thought they were much better than people were giving them credit for. Since their purchase by Ferrari, they made mountainous improvements over models such as the Bi-Turbo.

I am looking forward to this happening if it does so.

Might be a way for Ferrari to engineer a sale of Maserati to Audi, for a huge sum, at a future date? Just speculating here.

Bizzare, Lambo which is now owned by Audi, Maserati, & Ferrari were all arch rivals, now they are working together :-)

Maser-Audi future
Audi and Maserati will increase technology sharing that began between the companies with the development of the Maserati Coupe and Spyder. Audi will use the platform it helped develop for the new Maserati Quattroporte, and Maserati in turn will find use for the new A8 platform. Maserati also gets a version of quattro all-wheel drive for a future version of the Quattroporte and for a sport/activity vehicle, plus a big diesel for a vehicle like the Audi-based Kubang concept unveiled at the last Detroit auto show. In turn, Audi is looking to use the Quattroporte platform for a future high-end GT car and/or the eventual production SUV based on the Pikes Peak concept. Plans also call for joint Maserati-Audi dealerships worldwide.

Didnt realize they had this relationship between ferrari, maser and audi.
