Just think of all the worm farmers who will be put out of business with fewer markets for their product.

But don't blame an illegal alien TOO much. If it weren't for the big AMERICAN company trying to get by on the cheap and hiring ILLEGAL workers, there would be no jobs here to entice Mexican people across the border.

And by the way, I watch Univision y las senoritas esta MUY caliente! Thalia, Shakira, y Paulina Rubio pueda viva en mu casa todos los dias, (y noches!)

Guys
"Tequila" is a TM. owned by the Mexican gov. What they are talking about is to "Preserve the quality" they will no longer import bulk Tequila to US bottling plants but will instead only import bottled product. Under NAFTA this is legal even though it will cost American jobs at US bottling plants. This is simply about exporting jobs. If the US doesn't find a way to keep and create jobs it won't be pretty.

Perfect timing. Eliminate or limit export to the U.S. right in the middle of a tequila "craze". This sounds like standard Mexian BS. I think they are simply trying to guouge the market for a few more pesos.

Who cares? Let us buy our OWN tequila, and let the Mexican tequila factories flounder without the revenue that the US tequila market produces.

In five years, Mexico will be begging to reopen tequila trade with the US. And when the time comes, the newly powerful US Tequila lobbying groups will make sure it doesn't happen without STIFF STIFF STIFF taxation.

Sounds like good news for one of the great Ferrari owners of all time. Doesn't Sammy Haggar(sp?) "I can't drive 55" own a high quality (or at least trendy) Tequila company here in the states.

There... I made it Ferrari related.

Funny really, if Mexico is mad that USA is making Tequila so they are going to cut back? Wouldn't the USA makers just make more money with this dumb stratigy? Why does mexico think they are only ones that can make it? We don't think we are only country that can build a washing machine?

You're right James. It should have been posted in "Off Topic" instead of "General discussion". I apologize. And,Mitch. I am not a racist, and even IF I was, could care less about what you think. I am just expressing MY opinion, and, apparently, the opinion of the MAJORITY of other Americans,as,I do see news stories about it,almost daily, and other discussions about it here, several times in FChat. So,It's not just me. All I started out saying is that what a crappy thing for mexico to do after all the good that America has done for them. Which I am sure that most people would agree. And,of course,it gets all blown out of proportion. So,I am going to go out for a nice drive in my Ferrari now,in this great land of ours. Have a nice day! :-)

Yeah,I really DO have a clue. I see literally, millions of unemployed American Citizens on the TV news,EVERY SINGLE DAY.(And,as an American, care a little bit more about my fellow Americans, than I do about illegal mexican immigrants.) Trying to support their families, and would take just about any job available to do so.As long as it PAID enough to support their family. Then,I go to every fast food chain, store, construction site, factory, warehouse, trucking company,-jobs that USED to pay a decent, living wage to an American, and see all these illegal mexican immigrants happily working away, making money to send back to THEIR families,IN MEXICO. And,not even having the decency to come here legally, learn our language,etc... They, not all,but most, "sneak in",like a thief in the night. They "steal" social security numbers and identities, and send all their money back to mexico.I see all the people in California and Arizona, FIGHTING to close the border, because they are getting overrun. I see every town in the suburbs of Chicago having mexican "barrios" and gangs, crime, people with no insurance getting into accidents and fleeing. Then,"DEMANDING" more schools, more money, more representation in our government. Not asking,DEMANDING! yeah,go back to mexico and start DEMANDING! Sure, we're only talking about Tequila here.(started to,anyway) But,it's the PRINCIPLE of the matter. Let the United States help you all you can get them too. Then,go tell them to f*ck themselves!(speaking of which...)The big giant corporations who love the fact that they can pay as little as possible to get their work done,so that they can enjoy a higher profit margin. Why,because our government lets them get away with it. Wouldn't be too bad if these CEO's had to settle for only a couple million a year instead of several million a year, because they'd have to actually pay their employees a decent, living wage. Our minimum wage is $5.50 an hour. Nobody can live on that. And,if you have kids, forget it. And,I only agree with your point that only immigrants will take those jobs. But,my point is,is that if companies had to pay a decent, living wage, that someone actually could support themselves and their families on,then more "Americans" would take those jobs. Look at all the "corporate waste" that goes on. You really think that a CEO,ANY CEO, is "worth" tens of millions of dollars? And MORE? I,and most of America, don't. Pass that money down to the people that are actually doing the work,so that they can support their families. Sure,if some businesses had to pay living wages, health benefits, and,we forgot about retirement pensions-a thing of the past-except for corporate CEO's that is, they might have to close. But,some other company will move right in. These corporations are getting off way too easy. Paying minimum wages, barely any health insurance and other benefits, and, pretty much no more retirement pensions. And,people cannot live on that, while, the company owners and CEO's get richer and richer. But,yes, immigrants will take those jobs,as it is better for THEM. But,what about our own people? American citizens need to come FIRST. Any company that makes big profits, and can afford to pay their "upper management" huge salaries, can certainly afford to pay living wages to American workers. But,gee, that might cut into their precious profit margin! Hey,all I am saying is,America First. THEN we can help out other people. Yes,I DO have a clue. And,apparently,so does the rest of America. High unemployment, and complaining about illegal immigrant mexicans, are in the news almost daily. So,I guess that it's just not me complaining, here.

" How about if the US says,"no more Mexican immigrants for the U.S.!" "

1) the economies of California, Texas, and Arizona will shut down because these imigrant workers do jobs us high-faluten USoA people can't/won't do for the money people are willing to pay.

2) If you want tequila, grow some agave plants. There is plenty of room in Texas, New Mexica, and Arizona (desert) for this 'crop'

"And they haven't even had the gratitude to learn our language and customs."

While it is in their intrests to lear our language (infinitely better long term prospects), not learning our language benefits the USoA workers (since the do not compete on an equal footing).

"And,they're gonna f*ck with the U.S.!? "

Very body else doe, why not them?

"And became productive,tax paying citizens."

Why they, on the other hand, are productive, tax paying, illegal imigrants taking jobs no one in this country wants (e.g. lower than minimum wage)

"if the government raised the minimum wage, and forced companies to pay decent, living wages, our own people would work there"

You really don't have a clue do you?

oops, hit the wrong button. But,back up onto my soapbox... And now they want to mess with the U.S.? What a crock! See,all those people who don't appreciate nothing! Apparently, they want MORE from us. We already support them enough by letting them work here...(and they all send their money back to Mexico because they all say that they want to "retire there".)Finacial aid. Moving corporations and factories down there. In Chicago, a few weeks back. There was not one,but 2 mexican independence day parades here, 2 weekends in a row.(we have the second largest mexican immigrant population in the country)There were all these guys driving around with giant mexican flags draped on the hoods of their cars, and hanging out the windows. I asked one at a stop light,"Whats all the fuss about?" he said."Its a great day! It's mexicos independence day!" I said,"well,if you think that mexico is so f*cking great, why aren't you living over there?". He said,"I will go back someday to retire!" Some gratitude!

Saw a "news flash" on the computer today, that says that Mexico is going to limit, maybe even hold back any Mexican Tequila from export to the US. The headline said,"Mexico says No more Tequila for the U.S." How about if the US says,"no more Mexican immigrants for the U.S.!" And,If they do want to come, they have to bring a case of Fine Tequila with them. Goes on to say about some BS trade agreement between Washington and The U.S. Hey,talk about biting the hand that feeds you! And it's really bugging me that Mexico,of all countries,is gonna start playing games with the U.S. We've sent them cash money in US aid. We've relocated corporations down there to try to jump start their own economy. We've taken in a good portion of their population and given them jobs, welfare, homes, education. And they haven't even had the gratitude to learn our language and customs. And,they're gonna f*ck with the U.S.!? My ancestors, several generations ago, came to this country, legally, from Europe, with all that they could carry. They went through the proper channels to become American citizens.Promptly learned the language.Learned the customs. And became productive, tax paying citizens.Who,were eternally grateful to this great country for the opportunity that it gave them and their subsequent 7 generations of children,etc... Yeah,it really pisses me off that these people, who don't learn our language, sneak into this country illegally, steal social security numbers, commit crimes then flee back to Mexico, get on welfare,or,take our menial jobs, thet, yes, most people don't want, but,if the government raised the minimum wage, and forced companies to pay decent, living wages, our own people would work there. And,now they
