Well then you answered my question. Carfax lets you send as many requests in the first month you want for you and your friends. No reason to get excited. Thats all I wanted to know.

t-

I don't get it? Someone pays for unlimited carfaxes......(the company sells and advertises the service that way).....so they run as many as they need from whatever source......In this one intance: ME!!! (someone please send the carfax quick, I can't take much more of this!!! :-) )

If you get cable at your house......and a friend comes over and watches TV......are you a crook?????

Fred,

My account just expired otherwise I'd be happy to run a report for you. You might want to ask Ty.

Your email address, does that happen to stand for Defender 90 Limited Edition?

t szutz, when one signs up for car-fax, they have the option of obtaining an unlimited number of requests within a certain period of time.

I agree with Fred. Here in this community, its like having an extended family. Would one ask their brother or sister to pay for a carfax if they had the service?

ever downloaded a song, read a magazine in the bookstore, tasted a grape at the grocery store, used a pen from work at home, etc. etc.

does it make it right? of course not, but i'm also guessing we're all guilty of these things and so no one should be casting stones and making such a big deal out of a simple request. another board gets all worked up about carfax requests and it's ridiculous, IMHO, of course :-)

My only question is does carfax let anyone get a report when one person signs up. I'd just like to know what they say, if they say it's ok then I don't have an issue. I don't see the problem.

By the way, have you ever read a magazine at the doctors office, on a plane, etc... or picked up a newspaper that was already read????? Isn't that dishonest since you didn't pay for it??????

T szutz,

In this on-line community, we try to help one another. If someone already has a car-fax account to run, why shouldn't they help?

Simmilarly, if you came here to ask for some technical information, repair info, advise, etc... you wouldn't expect a bill from a mechanic would you? Some people ask for legal advise, some for personal advise. Yes, I suppose in the extreme sense, replying to those posts are working 'free', but that's what makes good neighbors.

By the way, welcome to f-chat!

Just let me know what they say. It's their service. they should be the ones to regulate such and charge appropiately. Honesty is honesty no matter the size, I know that sounds goofus, but I try to live that way.

T, no one's doing unlimited searches but an occasional carfax run here and there never hurts; that's what the 1-month trial version is for...

OK, But why take advantage of carfax. It seems to me that we all work for fair pay. If someone comes to me for my services and can't pay I don't have any trouble doing it for gratis. But I'm in healthcare and accept that from the start. Ask carfax if they want to do unlimited searches for one fee I have no trouble with that.

T Szutz, car faxes are generally an accepted request here at FerrariChat; usually people buy the 1-month trial version and never have a problem helping someone out if someone else needs a carfax run...
