Saw "Red, White and Blues" last night - was simply phenomenal. I will be buying the DVD set of these films for sure. I'm always lamenting the current state of music so something like this is just awesome. |

Jimi Hendrix. AC/DC. Just about every band from the 50's and 60's to now. All have Blues influence, and it comes out in their sound. I was always trained that Rock and Roll is the Blues, played fast. And,Heavy Metal,my favorite,is Blues,Rock and Roll played harder, heavier, louder, and faster. It's ALL good! |

I'm a moderator of this Blues Yahoo Group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Bluesville/ We combined two groups and are slowly, but surely, polishing other facets of the diamond to make the Blues shine. I work mostly in the background, rather than stirring things up - (like I do in F-Chat, heh) for instance - did the uh, logo. We're doing some kickin' things - like getting Blues Artists in to our Trivia Contests which are based on those same Artists. You'll also be amazed at the wealth of knowledge and talent some of these guys and gals possess. Whether or not you join, if you like Blues and Jazz, and want to legally download hundreds of the greatest albums ever made - check out http://www.emusic.com - I've been using emusic for a couple of years. A Motherlode. |

Watching it all and loving it. The interviews from all the shows have been great. A big thank you to Scorcese for bringing this to all of us. |

Any of you guys been cathching the 7 night "Blues" shows on PBS,this week? Some pretty good stuff. Being from Chicago, and a former musician,(still play alittle) always loved the Blues. But,this is some really fine material. Hard to believe it from Martin Scorcese. A great producer/director in his own right, but never knew how much he was into the Blues. If you haven't seen it,check it out. It's still on until Saturday night,I believe. On PBS,(9:00PM,Central time.) |
