Will

Bear in mind I did only about 8 laps (25 miles) in it so don;t take what I've said as absolute, also a friend (fellow Ferrari and Caterham owner) has just bought one, I'm sure he'll be doing a write up on it's performance so I'll let you know when that's out

Mark, thanks for the reply, a little surprised and disappointed to hear your comments about the engine.

I own a car very closely related to the JP1, quite sophisticated in its suspension, carbon fiber bodywork, etc, a single seater, powered by a 4 cylinder Toyota Atlantic engine, eligible to race in the SCCA's CSR class. I had thought that the same car with the 6 cylinder engine might be a sort of ultimate track day car - not legal for any US pro or amateur series that I'm aware of, but sufficiently awe inspiring in its performance to justify a probable $90k - $100k price. Had thought of even trying to import a few for resale, but at that price point in my opinion the car needs to be breathtaking - hence my disappointment at your report about performance.

Radical seems to have the US market for sports racers almost to itself - certainly Radical seems well known in US marque club circles - and competition based on something with an auto as opposed to a motorcycle power plant might steal some of that market share. I am not knocking Radical - to the contrary, I admire what they've done.

I have at Palmer's place in Bedford, England, no pics regretfully as it was a corporate day and they wern't allowed.

Impressions, nice sequential gearbox, gripped well, torquey engine in the mid range but seemed unwilling to rev and pick up from slow speeds, I got the fastest time of the day so can't be all bad!. Personally if I were looking for a track only car I'd go for a Radical SR3 or Caterham
