lol Chris! He certainly sounds and acts like one. It may just be jealousy on my part though...I wish I was an F1 driver at 23 :-)

Dave,

You don't have to stand. You can remain seated if you like. Not a correction at all, just a clarification. :o)

I would have probably been barred for that on Ferrari-Talk

Gearbox failure. You could hear him hitting the rev limiter while slowly motoring around the track stuck in a lower gear. When he retired to the pits and shut the car off, they had to jack up the rear so they could move it out of the way so Ralf could make his next pit stop. It was stuck in gear and would not roll.

He was really pulling away from Rubens before the gearbox failed. Opened up 8 second gap in two laps. If Rubens had not won it, I was hoping Montoya would. Heaven forbid that Kimi would have started 8th and come on to win it.

He had a hydraulic failure which trashed the valve actuation of the motor, I believe...

I'm just guessing here, but JPM (and I do like him) has a history of really pushing cars and their engines to failure when he is in the mood. And being a racer, that's a lot of the time.

That combined with a several different motivations and what had to be a light fuel load, JPM had nothing to lose in a banzai blitz off the line. You must admit, it certainly got his sponsors air time.

If you want to see reliability - the Ferrari record is amazing - even in the supported teams (although one blew during the race).

I thought he was winning? Are F1 cars just unreliable or what? Every race there's at least 3 drivers out
