Lowering the taxes 2.5% for the second worst category, would in FY2000, lower the amount of taxes from 5% of the pool.

How is that going to help the middle class?

What a moron.

The problem both these politicians fail to see & the public is too uneducated to understand is that the dividend cut helps everybody in the US except the IRS which is how it should be. I'm sure a lot of you know people who whine that the dividend cut only helps the rich. How many people do you suppose have dividend paying stocks in their pensions ? Probably somewhere over 50 million Americans and there are not 50 million millionaires in America. The dividend cut helps everybody. Taxes only help the govt which will waste it anyways. As Thomas Jefferson one of our best presidents said, " He who governs least governs best." I truly believe that and I am sure Jefferson would be aghast at what the Federal govt has become. Lieberman is no Thomas Jefferson

And then there was John Kerry on Washington Week yesterday who said he had the perfect solution to the $87bill cost for the Iraq war. He just wanted to reduce the Bush tax cut back to $300bill from $388bill by just taking it away from the wealthy who can afford it anyway....

These are HIS words not mine.

He's a loser. Anybody who says raise taxes immediately loses my vote.

CT has some of the highest taxes in the country yet all the big cities, Hartford, Bridgeport, & New Haven are ruined ghettos. Way to go guys, way to chase industry & jobs out of CT through crushing taxation

If the gov't would quit pork-barelling and giving many a "free" ride at the expense of the those of us who work, we might be in better shape.

Cut: Gov't spending !!

1 out of 400 citizens during the
Civil War were associated with the
gov't to some degree.

1 out of 5 citizens today are associated
with the gov't to some degree.
