Jack, You're right. I have been saying that all day. I anticipate poor ratings as well. DL |

Here's the story of the goat. Remember the SNL skit about "cheezborger, cheezborger" with Belushi etal? The owner of the original Billy Goat tavern in Chicago was a Greek immigrant named Sam Sianis, or something like that. Back in the old days, when restrictions were looser to enter the ballpark, Sianis would frequently bring his pet goat to the Cubs games. When the Cubs made it to the World Series ('45, I believe), the goat was refused admission due to the size of the crowd. Sianis was pissed, and placed a curse on the Cubs and Wrigley Field. Over the last 15 years or so there have been several different ceremonies to exorcise the demons and remove the curse. Naturally, they always involve descendents of Sianis, as well as the parading around of some hapless goat. It's all pretty silly stuff in which I am starting to believe! Darth, your RIP left somebody out. It should have read: R.I.P. Red Sox / Cubs / FOX World Series ratings.

Some guy way back in 1908 used to go to every game and bring his goat along, as ws the style at the time i suppose. One day the general manager said that the guy couldnt bring his goat anymore. The guy said "without me and this goat here you will never will a championship again". they didnt. at least thats the story i was told. |

As much of an A's fan I am, I wanted the Sox, and now....i dont care about the series. I think the ALCS and NLCS was some of the best BB that we have seen in years. Go....someone else next year. |
