Well that makes me feel a little better. While RR's are nice, I have never been too intrigued by them, not my style. Bentley on the other hand...gorgeous! I don't know much about Volkswagen, but after reading your posts, I think the common feeling is that Bentley will still be pumpin out the same quality and performance machines, as in the past.

The best part of the split is that Bentley production contiues at Crewe, same place Royce's and Bentleys have been made for the past 60 years, guess who got all the decent workers(it wasnt BMW!!!), can't belive that the new Phantom is produced in germany and "assembled" in the uk, as a sheikh once put it when Rolls Royce is no longer English it will be no more! C.S.Rolls and Henry Royce must be spinning in their graves! (they will of course be spinning silently!)

Take a look at the development of the R8 Lemans racers and the way they dominated. The Bentley racer that won this year was also VW/Audi development. Take a look at what VW/Audi is doing with the S4, RS6, A8L, the new Lemans Quattro. I look for VW to do good things with the Bentley. Probably the performance will be increased also.

VAG(Vw Audi Group) will do more things with Bentley then BMW will do with RR. VAG is not going to let cars out like they used to. Produce the car and then find the problems out as it is in the customers hands. This is one of the main reasons the CGT is not out yet. They are testing, testing and doing more testing. As a dealer for both, the VAG has done more for the dealers to prepare us for the CGT the BMW did to prepare us for the Phantom.

I think VW will do more neat things with Bentley than BMW will with RR.

I was shocked to hear that RR and Bentley split. Im sure you all know this, but, BMW took over RR, while Volkswagen took over Bentley. It may be good for Rolls-Royce to be teamed wih BMW, a leader in automobile innovation and technology. However, I am scared to see what will become of Bentley. How much pull are Volkswagen engineers going to have in the creation of new automobiles bearing the 'B Wing'. I really liked the new Continental GT. That was created under the new Volkswagen ownership right? I can't remember, but if it was, then that settles my mind a little. It is a very impressive car. I just hope Volkswagen doesn't interfere with the marques reputation, or contaminate the minds of its engineers with some Hybrid-50 MPG bullshit blueprints. :-)
