I doubt that will happen as the US economy is too tied into the world economy now. the US, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Europe, even China are nearly a seamless world economy. There are a few hiccups now & then but they follow each other in the fundamental ups & downs. I'd like to see a politician say wer'e pulling out of the middle east & you camel humpers can take your oil & shove it We can easily make up that oil now with oil from Canada, Russia, Venezuela, South Ameirca, & deep sea oil. We dont need the middle east. We can use hybrid cars, improve solar & nuclear fusion, & other alternative sources. It beats sending our children off to die in the desert of Iraq. I'd also like to see a politician with serious goals for space exploration & a new space shuttle & a serious improvement enlargement of the ISS to make it a viable platform to launch interplanetary vehicles from I dont want any new taxes, Ever and lets build new electrical plants and rebuild all the electric cables to deliver the power to the people without any more brownouts |

I was reading a comentary the other day in the paper and found it to be interesting. the jist was that in the near future a presidential runner would base his election on changing laws to bring business back to America. In short it was bringing back the old ways. Tariffs on imports and making it expensive to manufacture out of this country and retail in this country. With service based jobs, that were supposed to take the place of manufacturing, being sourced out to India and others it makes sense. We told the laid off workers that they would get jobs in the information industry and then sold those jobs offshore also. I, for one, would love to see it cost twice as much for a Mazda as a Ford as long as that Ford was built here with American steel. |
