Since they are so heavy they can be classified as as light trucks or somethng like that, so if you have a business you can write some of the price, so it can be almost free, depending on your usage. |

Classic Hummer is a fairly new dealer, having opened within the last six months. I heard they are the largest but that is just hearsay that I cannot back up. I would not want one myself, either the H1 or H2. Many other vehicles do a better job of doing what they are supposed to do at a much more reasonable price. That is until reality sets in and the prices come in line. |

Rick, I bought an H2. It is in service right now (500 Miles) with various problems. The car is definetly cheap made and made for looks as others said on a truck frame. Still drives okay but is most definetely overpriced for what you get. I bought mine for MSRP $ 51,095 but paid only dealer invoice $ 48,173 minus a $2000 dealer cash back.. So I paid $ 46,100 for a $51,100, which is your $5,000 off. If you want I can put you in touch with my salesman. He is good. The car sucks though. I let GWB allow me to write it off this year 60%, saving me $ 10,000 in taxes and next year the balance $ 6,000 then sell the bloody thing to my deaelrship for $ 5,000 and the dealership sells it back to me for the same. In that case I paid $ 30,000 for the car, what is really value.

The H1 is an awesome vehicle. Don't really care for the H2. James, I thought Lynch Hummer was the biggest dealer? They take very good care of their customers. www.lynchhummer.com |

Same price breaks up here in the Pacific NW. D!ck Hannah Hummer in Vancouver, WA has a new "never tagged" 2002 H1 in stock. MSRP = 109k, special price on rear view mirror hanger tag = 64k, ad in last Sunday's paper = 55k. It's like watching the stock market prices drop! Drives awesome by the way. The soft top had way less road noise than I thought it would. And the turning radius is sweet. I was doing circles around a lamp post in the K-mart parking lot with the post maybe 10 feet from my door! The H1 would turn circles around my Silverado 2500 easy!! Point of interest: if you think about getting an H1 to tow your toys, the towing limit is 8,0000 lbs. My Silverado has that beat. I can tow 10,800 with my 4.10 rear end. Sorry -- this was off topic from the H2 mentioned in the thread title but I wanted to share my findings from my look at the H1. I'm giving that H1 soft top some thought.... |

Omar, I do not know how many they had left or what the deal was. I was on my way to work at the Audi place and was passing Classic Hummer as one of their radio commercials came on. I don't know if they were demos, hail damage units or what but they were giving ridiculous $$$$off msrp. That is when they advertised the H2 at $5K off msrp. Go to www.classichummer.com/webpages/specials.html This is showing a demo at $40,000 off MSRP. This is also a 2002 model with 7,500 miles on it. Supposedly the dealers demo. This is supposed to be the nations largest Hummer dealer. Everywhere you look when you go by, you see acres of Hummers. Why?????? |

I looked at a used H1 years back but ended up getting a Range Rover insted, as it was more practical for my 70% street and 30% off road use. Bob is right though, H2 seems no more than a rebodied truck frame designed to sell, based on the off road capabilities and success of the original H1, purpose built as a military vehicle. And at any rate, in my neck of the woods, the H2 has become the latest chick car, just edging out the new Corvette. If I were to get a purpose built off road vehicle, an H1 would be a good choice.

"who would even want an H1 now???" I'd take one over an H2 any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I'd take a used H1 over a new H2 |

What is the attraction of the H2, they put together a 1500 and 2500 frame, put a squared off body on it and priced it high. I just don't get it. |

Classic Hummer in Grapevine Texas is offering them for $5,000 off sticker for a beginning price. They were offering new H1"s a few weeks ago for $50K off sticker. Even at that price, who would even want an H1 now????? |
