"Cert took about six hores each"
So all you have to do is bang six "W"hores to get certified per vehicle?
Should have done that for s*its and giggles before I got married.

Hell, I did it this weekend in two days.

Got certified on;

10,000lbs Fork lift, Loader, twenty ton dump truck, 6000 lbsfork and loader. And a few others.

Cert took about six hores each.

This was a Civilain course offered to Marines. I always loved big Digs, as my 7 yo neighbor call them, so I signed up.

Vincent...I am looking for a class he can take in Stockton or Modesto. I will fund his classes. My feeling is that this trade would require the least amount of training for the maximum amount of income (for a 20 year old). I trust I am correct. Please advise.

BTW, pic is after a few thousand feet of tunneling, that's why it doesn't look so pretty.

Peter,

there is a school near you, i forget exactly where but I visited it once. It's the california operators' training grounds. I can make a call and find out, tomorrow. The vice pres used to teach a class that I was a teaching assistant for.

I have run a lot of equipment, but I work for a non union company: so I used to just jump on and figure it out (don't have to now). It's not so hard, just take a little time to get efficient.

Is he interested in doing this? Lot's of work to be had if you own a backhoe and then turn into an excavator or dozer (or both). The toughest part is not the contracting license but moving the equipment around and people can do that for you.

Here's a pic of my favorite HEAVY equipment I have run.

Is your car back together? I miss the shots of you standing in the engine bay. Come out for the sf drive this weekend. I'll put you up the night before.

Vincent.

I'm trying to get my girfriend's son (20) into heavy equipment operation. Anyone have answers to how long it takes to get certified / trained on basic land moving machines?
