a 3.2 with a early 915 will be an ABSOLUTE ROCKET!!
Faster and more nimble than a factory 3.6L The early 915 had a different gearing. A 3.2 in that car will flat out MOVE

Terry, the 2.2 or 2.4 liter engines had none of these issues either. I'm looking for a nice, unmodified 2.2 or 2.4.

Even though the price guides place nice 2.4 liter S models in the $16K-$24K range, it looks like everything I find in decent (original or restored) condition is going for closer to $30K. I think I might start looking at E models from the same period instead. Thanks for your help, gentlemen!

Lots of people put 3.2s in early cars. I have a good friend with a '74 RSR replica street car. It has fiberglass fenders, bumpers and hood, a lightweight interior and a 3.2 engine and trans update. The engine has been rebuilt to 10.5:1 compression and GE80 cams, its good for about 250hp. It weighs about 2400lb. A VERY fast car, tons of fun.

The 3.2 engines are extremely reliable. None of the pulling head studs issues.

If your not looking for a purely original car, an early lightweight with a 3.2 can be great!

The highest displacement 73 was 2.8 for the RSR or 2.7 for the RS (street). 3.2 didn't come until much later.

Cheers

WM, thanks. 3.2 is way wrong for this car and seller seems to be in FL (Winter Park), but I'll check it out. Thanks for the lead!

This might be up your alley: in AutoWeek, p.48 of the Oct.27 issue, asks $26.9, owner phone: (407)788-0828, allegedly fully restored.
