Just did a quick search - it looks like Cafe do Ponto is a Sara Lee brand. Cou,d contact them to see if they import it or would consider it.

Here's a link: http://www.transnationale.org/fiches/-1804671779.htm

Does anyone want to try to do a group buy on some beans? How hard would it be to bring it in? Can anyone here contact someone they know at a coffeehouse or gourmet food store? I'll pitch in just to see what all the fuss is about.

JUST added a PS below... http://www.brazilyellowpages.com/brastudonewbebidas.html

Ordered four bags (2 lbs total) and will see how it goes. Have a Rocky grinder and would prefer beans, but beggers can't be choosers for now. E-mailed my friend in Brazil to see if he'll help me, but shipping will be $$$ :-(

Steven,

For "Store bought/OTC" grind, I have found Cafe La Llave espresso to be good and strong. It is in most stores. (Green can).

I also mentioned in another thread, Ferrari coffee, Peaberry Kona.

Steven,

GREAT STUFF! I'm having some right now. I have tried to find beans as well. I have my wife's relatives bring 4-6 bags at a time when they come (beans and grind). One time my mother in law was hasseled for having the coffee, as they thought something was hidden in it! She does not speak English. What a day that was.

Thanks eveyone. Will e-mail World Wide, yet all i have been able to find in the USA so far is grinds, not beans. LOVE these beans when in Brazil and brought back two 500 gram bags. Now am out and desire more. MANY thanks and if someone has a line on BEANS (not grounds) let me know.

MANY thanks,

Steven R. Rochlin

PS: have friends in brazil and may get a case sent to me if all else fails. Shipping cost will be $$$ tho :-(

Have you tried www.coffeegeek.com ? I don't know if they carry it, but a buddy of mine who is starting a coffee roasting co. swears by them. They have all the obscure stuff.
