I hardly believe they are dropping coverage on existing policy holders. I think USAA has suspended writing NEW policies or ADDING coverage to existing policies. That is just smart business. |

Thanks for looking into it! I'll read my policy carefully tonight and post back what I find out. |

I'm not sure that they can do that. I'd want an opinion from the State Insurance commissioner about that, because I don't think that they can cancel the insurance since you've paid the policy. I'll take a look at the law on Monday (going to LA tomorrow for a court appearance). Art |

With the way I drive, are you kidding? Good comeback though. The reaction would have been worth it. Sunny |

Its if your involved in the fires, you will not be covered for that. Someone bounces into me on a freeway, etc thats going to be covered. Apparently, they can suspend fire coverage in disaster areas (natural or otherwise) and I remember there's an area of that in the policy. Insurance is such a scam. They only pay out if A through Z criteria are true, LOL! Just be careful out there in So Cal land. |

Strange because USAA is considered one of the "better" insurers since they have limited access to their benefits. |

I just spoke with USAA and informed them about a change in address and to review my policy. Once I said that I was moving to San Diego this weekend, the representative said that there is currently a coverage suspension in the San Diego area due to the fires. So, if you believe your vehicles to be in danger, fair warning! Take out additional insurance or see if you can cover it under your homeowners (not likely) or under your existing supplemental insurance (if exist and more likely). 1-800-531-8111 - Auto and Property Insurance (excluding New Homeowners Policy Requests), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Sunny |
