Rikky..I do not have pics. After the last sighting three weeks ago, I bought five disposable camera's that are in the office and bedrooms (in case I do not have my digital handy on an ASAP basis) ready to shoot. The BIG cat is the size of my couch, just huge! Once in a while you get the little ones, 40-70 pounds. I don't want to mess with any of them! |

Got to be joking:
quote:- also bear this year
Surely not, Bears don't need culling do they?. I'm all for eating meat and all, but you do not have to enjoy the hunt and killing part. Just buy it in the supermarket. Sorry can not understand why anyone would want to shoot a defenceless animal. Yes I understand culling and all ... but I cannot understand the people that want to be part of it. There is no need for you to hunt anymore ... you are doing it purely for the thrill of the kill, and I cannot understand that. If you like shooting why not go to a target range ... I don't know, there are some things I just do not understand about people ... even the last time I went fishing it was no fun watching the fish die. Guess I missing that gene ... many thanks parents! Pete ps: There is a saying that goes something like: If a young child is cruel to animals then there is something wrong or unnatural. What does that imply to adults who can make better informed choices??? |

Mitch..AMEN! The deer are over-abundant where I live too. I can not plant anything they like to eat, its just not worth it. I do like them though, damn cute (but friggen dumb!). The less deer the hunters can kill, the more that the mountain lions can eat. Mountain lions should be fair game also. I have a 200+ pound cat that wanders through the back of my house a couple of times a month. All I need in life is to have that cat eat my nine year old. |

some people would prefer you kill them with your car - they just don't get it - in NJ we have deer entering toy stores and chasing kids. who cares whether you think its sick, fact of the matter is hunters play an important part in the conservation of wildlife and contribute significantly to tax reciepts too. Thank God we live in a free country |

There are so many friggen dear in Austin, that it has become impossible to have a garden or a flower bed! I used to be on the "why is hunting fun" crowd, However, I have graduated into thinking that if the dear are eating my plants, then its fair for me to eat them! In my development, the dear are so thick a shotgun will drop them by the handful. |

Hunting is in our genes. Repress it if you want. Well, I don't know about the genes part, there is other stuff in our genes that's better left repressed, hmm. I never kill anything I don't eat, Well, while I don't eat animals, I can however sort of respect that, particularly vs people for whom the sole thrill lies in the kill. Survival of the fitest, I love that video of the deer kicking the out of that deer hunter. Now we're talking :-) Best, |

What's wrong with deer hunters and the outdoorsman way of life? I think hunting is really sick, I don't see what could possibly be "fun" about killing animals that don't stand a chance against a man with a gun, I can have fun in the woods without that, but I don't want to preach here ;-) Besides, this might be an alternative:
"You don't have to get up at three in the morning and squeeze into a pair of long-johns to go deer hunting anymore. Hunters are now stalking deer and other animals on their computers. A Twin Cities' software company leads the way in virtual hunting and fishing. " RedNeckHunting Software |

What's wrong with deer hunters and the outdoorsman way of life? You practice so you get a clean kill and the animal doesn't suffer more than it has to. Besides many being racist and sexist, I love the good ole American Rednecks. My favorite Jeff Foxworthy one is... You know you're a Redneck if your home is mobile, but your car ain't. Now what does it mean if your neighbors trailerhome is nicer than your house and you have 2 Ferraris, 2 race cars, 2 other cars, and several other misc. friends cars and parts laying everywhere? |

Heard on the radio this morning that Saturday marks the first day of deer hunting season in Texas. The State Troopers are on alert and have said that deer season always brings trouble. They will be on the lookout for hunters this weekend as they have a tendency to get wasted and get behind the wheel. Fellow Texans, beware of drunken hillbillys with rifles in their laps, beer breath, and rotting meat in the backs of their pickups this weekend. I guess I know what the guy across the street from me will be doing this weekend. I'm fortunate enough to look out the front window and see him either working on some new deer blinds in the driveway or taking bow practice with the fake deer in his front yard. Real classy guy. |
