Nebula, I'm with you on the big ol' boats. I got to drive Frank Sinatra's 1975 Caddy Fleetwood Brougham one time. It was light blue with a navy roadster top and navy leather and it only had 61,000 original miles on it. It was about 50 feet long! (at least it seemed like it) I loved every minute of it. Just the thought that Ol' Blue Eyes probably got hummers while driving in the same spot that I was in put a smile on my face. |

I agree with you Kds, and to think it was named Sport Utility of the Year by...Car and Driver maybe? I wouldnt agree. I think Cadillac did a fine job on the Escalade, and would be a more suitable candidate. |

Could've been much much worse Nebs. Up here, the typical "soccer mom" has a Chrysler mini van or Honda Odyssey. Compared to that, a brand new Expo is automotive nirvana. |

At least it's not the new Volvo SUV. Now "that" fits the profile perfectly. Not that there is anything really bad with Volvo's, if you can get past the lack of styling. |

Last night, I got my step-dad to drive a 2004 Corwn Vic Sport. That was a damn nice car. We were going to go with the Mercury Marauder, but couldn't find one. The Sport, however, was very nice. The handling was crisp (for a 20 year old chassis), and the power was pretty impressive. Off the line, it was ok, but on the freeway, the thing just flies. Soo my step-pop really liked it, and was going to buy it this morning. The sticker was $30k, but he had a deal at about $24k w/rebate. Anyways, my mom just called me and said they just bought an Expedition. DAMNIT!! Not that I don't like them, but it's just too damn soccer mom for me. I'm not into the SUV thing, and I really get irritated at the popularity of them. Nothing more than a status symbol. They got a great deal - a $32k model for $22k. No complaints, but I really wish they had broken from the mold! My step-pop is OK with it, but he really wanted the Crown Vic. My mom says the next new car is his. I guess that's ok with him. Just a bit dissapointed. No big deal, as I get their hand-me-down 1990 Lincoln Town car with 180k on the clock. Works great, and I love big ol' boats. |
