Jon-

Thanks for the reply, and congrats on the new baby. With a 355c in the garage I guess you're not hurting for track toys, but the SR3, by all means and measures, looks to be a phenomenal buy. However, is there any North American support for these cars, be it technical, service, or parts (body work, shock revalving, etc.). Did you ever entertain looking into the legality/plausibility of getting the 'street legal' SR3 imported?

Regards,
Hubert

Hubert,

Had planned to either get a SR3 or a Formula car of some type to race in 2003 but we recently found out that my wife is pregnant with our third child so all racing activities for 2003 are on hold (due date is June).

I had planned to sell the 355 C at the end of this season but the market is a bit soft at the moment and I might use it one more season for track events and then sell it in late 2003 to make way for my next race car for 2004. The SR3 is still being considered.

Check with F-Chatter Matt Karson as he is looking into the prospect of getting an SR3 as well.

Unbelievable car for the money. I ran with one at the Glen in September with the smaller motor and the car was still the fastest car present even with a coupl of 333 SP's and two 962's.

Great car.

Jon-

Tangent to the topic, but did you ever decide on getting the radical sr3 you talked about some time ago? Just curious to hear what you're doing w/ the upcoming season, keeping the 355c?

I envy you americans, you got a complete racing channel, where we (the dutch) only have like a few hours a week of racing. And that includes the Eurosport coverages on NASCAR, which I don't even like. To much of the same thing.

Luckly for me I work at a go-kart center during weekends. And the son of my boss over there is trying to become European Champion in the ICC class, so at least I get to watch some racing anyway :-)

Love to see that it's not only NASCAR that's showed in the US since there are such great other championships.

Well to keep on topic, Well done Speed Channel, keep it up :-)

I know everyone was worried about Speed Channel becoming NASCAR Channel but it appears that was totally unwarranted.

Watched F3000 Coverage tonight and it was plain awesome. I worried that Speed Channel might have some twitty British guy commentating but was stunned and delighted that Varsha and Hobbs did the commentary.

Great racing with plenty of tire lock up, slingshot drafting, passing and repassing in the turns and good commentary.

I think we owe Speed Channel a debt of gratitude for listening to it's loyal fan base. It was also announced that next year we will get live coverage of F3000 races. There was also a hint we might get British F3 races tape delayed.

With German DTM, British BTTC, Australian Super V8's, CART, Grand Am, ALMS, Toyta Atlantic, Formual Mazda, Trans Am, F1, F3000, European ETCC, Speed GT and Touring and low and behold even some SCCA racing Speed Channel is doing a good job even if there is a bit too much NASCAR (I watch that occasionally as well).

Good Job Speed Channel!
