Andreas,

They had two ceremonies - a morning one mainly for journalists and sponsors, and the afternoon one for owners, suppliers, club members and guests. We didn't get anything as lavish as a buffet but I bet the journalists did!

The ceremony was in the new, futuristic looking logistics centre besides the Fiorano track with seating for 800. It was nice to attend the unveiling and listen to the principals - all in Italian. Then there was a chance to take photos of the F1 car and also the GT cars outside, including the Enzo. They then took groups of people through the factory and the new machining centre. It was not like the regular factory tours in that it was much quicker, entirely in Italian, and a bit haphazard, but it was great to see the new Enzo assembly line.

And that was about it. I enjoyed being there for my first F1 unveiling and feel some of the passion the Scuderia seem to genuinely have (and it was good to have a chance to talk with Luca di Montezemolo and others). However I thought they could have organised a better time for the guests, many of whom had travelled there from long distances.

Ciao, Amar

Amar, phantastic, that you've made that journey!

What else was going on? Where was the event, what building? Did they give you a special tour, was there a buffet etc?

Terribly curious as I might do this one day myself.

Just got back from Maranello - the ceremony was great though entirely in Italian but I understood enough words to clap for the right comments! The car looks beautiful and in fact smaller, particularly the rear end. The engine is supposed to be lighter and indeed the whole package is significantly lighter than the F2002 and with lower centre of gravity. Everybody from Luca di Montezemolo and Jean Todt to the drivers was gushing about the car and Rory Byrne went out on a limb and said this is the best one Ferrari has made - exactly what he said last year and look what the results were!

Had another chance to see the Enzo up close and even to see and hear one on the Fiorano track - but too far away... Will post some photos in a couple of days.

Did you guys catch, that the name of the new car is now F2003-GA. The GA stands for Gianni Agnelli, late boss of Fiat. Nice touch!
