Bret remember last year when almost the same thing happened with MS and Montoya. They gave Montoya the drive-thru penality then. So it's only fair MS gets it this time.

I too am eager to see the F2003GA, but let's keep in mind that McClaren too is still running last year's car.

I missed most of the race (watched the replay last night but had to go to bed around 3, only halfway through it). I thought they were a little eager to give Schumi a penalty also, sh_t happens, it's a race. He made a mistake, he seemed to just plain old realize what was going to happen too late and couldn't stop in time. Trulli deserved the apology and it shows a lot about Schumi's character that he gave it, but a penalty was a little over the top IMO. Since they won in 2000 I haven't watched much F1, I have to say though that this season I'm waiting for the next race. Stupid Speedvision has NASCAR and truck racing all day today but hopefully I can catch another replay of the Malaysian G.P.

I think the F2002 is still the best car out there, but the Bridgestones suffered in the Malaysian heat. Michael did take on fuel when they changed his nose. Did you see that pit stop? 10.7 seconds to change the nose and refuel!
Michael apologised to Trulli after the race.

I too am looking forward to seeing the F2003, but Luca Badoer keeps breaking them. Best to Luca for a quick recovery from his visit to the hospital this week.

A upside to the F2002 is that Ferrari understands the car and it's systems very well which is most likely helpful with the new rules. With less opportunity to make changes during the weekend it is wise to delay the F2003 until they know it very well.

JV is the handicap at BAR I feel. Shows a bad attitude and for his results- why is he paid so well?? (OK - good manager=good contract)

Didn't feel MS deserved the drive thru penalty. The starts are wild and that was just a racing incident. I think they are going out of their way to make sure that Ferrari doesn't walk away with the title. Maybe that has hurt overall interest in the series in the last couple years which hurts sponsor and TV money flow.

Time for Ferrari to roll out the 2003 car- last years car is no longer best in class. Rubens had a fair shake at winning and just plain didn't have the speed to do it.

Qualifing is really boring to watch now. But the races are much better.

What's really disappointing to me is BAR. With all of Honda behind them you would think they would be in contention but it looks like the same old thing.

I can't wait for the F2003-GA to make it's appearance. The McLarens and Renaults have really caught up. This is going to be a more exciting season!

Well, well, this sure is becoming one interesting season. The McLaren and especially the Michelins are much better than anticipated, Ferrari maintains to blunder and Renault's engine is top.

It seems, that nobody is really playing games with the qualification and the times kinda represent the strength of the teams. So Alonso's pole was no accident.

Looking forward to this season. MS found a worthy Hakkinen in Raikkonen.

MS stopped 4 times , what were they thinking ? Ok he had one penalty stop and one stop to change his front nose but couldnt they change the tires and refuel him while changing the nose ? It was worth a shot , its not like he was having the perfect race...
And Barichello proved once again he hasnt got what itakes to be a champion..He did some fast laps but couldnt shake off the Renault and couldnt catch the Mclaren ..

The F2002 is still a fast car as MS proved it by setting the fastest lap during the latest laps.
Too bad he crashed in the first lap and got that penalty drive through...
