Actually still sitting at home, but soon on my way. Got your order, will process. Gonna meet with Anthony, who already is there and talked to a F team member and Irvine's parents. It will be a party...

Andreas, I just "clocked on" and found out you're at Imola!? You rock. If it's not a hassle, can you snag an extra shirt or hat? I would appreciate it. Keep on updating...

Well for one part it is about tobacco advertisements, which are getting largely banned in Europe, but not in South America and Asia Pacific.
Also F1 and racing has a huge following in Brazil, just look at the driver lineup and their immediate sponsors. Was there ever a Belgian GP driver? Ickx if I'm not mistaken, but not many I think.

Personally I'm still happy Interlagos is on the schedule as it is currently the only South American GP left. I truly think the international cachet of F1 needs it to expand beyond Europe. Kinda like the same argument as with the Worldcup Soccer; you don't want just a European tournament.

So I have no problem with Interlagos and with a new track in Shanghai. I do have an issue with loosing Spa (still there, but on shaky ground) of course. So to add Shanghai or Moscow (or get Buenos Aires and Mexico back onto the schedule) I'd be happy to name a few candidates:

- the new Hockenheim or the new Nuerburgring (one GP in Germany is enough and both tracks lack character)

- Imola (one Italian GP is enough and the track got castrated after 94) and it will go away btw

- Hungary (Mickey Mouse circuit)

And while we're at it: Replace Silverstone with Brands Hatch.

Just my 0.02 Lira.

That sounds horrible. Can someone explain to me again why Interlagos is on the calendar and Spa is not?

I went once to the Interlagos GP and would definitely second your comment: Because it is in the midst of the slums (and we're talking here people with NO money or possessions whatsoever) there are armed guards all around the entrances with MPs over their shoulders. The prerace show was non existent, nothing, nada, zilch. Sat there for two hours being blarred at by loudspeakers in Portuguese. Not one translation into English at all. Very frustrating. No souvenir stands or anything either. The drivers parade was perfomed using a truck. Compare that to e.g. Indy where they bring out nice antique cars for each team.

Interlagos, been there, done that, never again.

yeah, I saw mosley making a comment about banning or punishing him and alonso. To me Brazil is one of the worse run races (remember the sign boards) and I have no doubt signals to the drivers were probably late and not visable

Nice weather for the first qualifying session. The two Ferraris are 1-2 so far, each separated from each other and the rest by about half a second. Not a bad start. Then follow the two Williams and then eventually the Mc Larens.

Weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday has some rain in it, could be roll of the dice during the final qualifying.

On a different topic: There is a chance MS gets a penalty (drop in the starting grid or race ban) for speeding under yellow at Interlagos (just before he crashed out). Let's hope it won't happen.
