I was stunned to learn about that myself. The guy must have the golden touch. He basically bought apartments around the world and rents them out and later sells them. He has about 70 of those. OTOH my own apartment doubled in price in the last few years. Not that I planned on that, it just happened. That doesn't make me a real estate genius, but Irv must have done more than that as he basically quintupled his cash. |

This may be a dumb question - but what kind of real estate investments does an Eddie Irvine make to increase his net worth by that much? That's pretty damn cool in my book................... |

LOL @ Andy ! I remember that ! Senna was ( is ? ) Irvine racing idol ..I wonder how does it feel to get punched on the face by ur hero ? Im sure he has a few other Ferrari , i remember watching the Ferrari 50th anniversary DVD and he was being interviewed and said that he could easily spend a few million quids on some cars..that was in 1997 , he wasnt nearly as rich as he is today.

No mention of the serial number. He just says "I never wanted my old racing cars. What can you do with them? I've got my road cars - a GTO and my old Merc 500E in Europe, and the Mustang here." I think the GTO is now at his place in Oxford. He used to keep it in Dublin. This was in the 'Late News' section of pitpass.com:

Andrew, you're quite right. Irv the perv. The James Hunt of the nineties and like Hunt almost lucked out to become a WC himself. RACER mentions his $$$ as well, stating he made about 40 from racing, but about 220 from real estate deals. Not shabby by any means. Does CAR tell you the serial # of his GTO by any chance? |

Latest edition of RACER has a big interview with Eddie Irvine and his happy life in Miami. Good for him. |
