I found this pic on the 'Net a few years ago. It's the spot where Senna's car hit the wall. That yellow mark at the top is from his helmet.

Certainly a great tread, and some great photo's. Senna is, was and ever will be a monument of racing. IMHO already a legend. Although we shall never know if MS was equal to Senna or worse (nowadays I mean), I don't think many people really care about it. Jon, thanks a lot for that video, great music to go with the footage. |

If you go to my website page at http://hstrial-jkofod.homestead.com/vids.html click on Senna Tribute for a great video someone in Brazil made. I just started watching F1 in the early 80's and though I was a Masnell fan and hated McLaren he mesmerized me with his driving to the point that he became my favorite driver even though I was a die hard Ferrari fan. I cannot comment on Clark since that was way beyond my time as well as Fangio. But compared to Stewart, Prost and Schumacher I still think Senna edged them out as the best driver/racer I ever watched. Schumacher may have the record books but didn't have the competition Senna had and while the Benneton he won two world titles with was not the best car, Senna won in cars that were the equivelent of today's BAR or Toyota. Schumachers wins in the Benneton were closer to today's Williams or the past few years Mclarens. While Schumacher has done some really sureal things on the track, nothing will ever match Senna's lap at Donnington or his utter destruction of Prost at Monte Carlo. I think the tie breaker for me between Schumacher and Senna is that Senna won against a three time World Champion team mate. Schumacher has never had any competition from his team mates either through his superior skill or through his number one status. Just my 02 cents worth! Regards, Jon P. Kofod 1995 F355 Challenge #23

Although a touchy topic, what do you guys think happened? Do you think the steering shaft caused it? I've watched the video at least 50 times trying to see myself. |

Here a few pictures I took over the years: Monaco in 84 (Toleman), Montreal in 93 and Morumbi cemetery in Sao Paulo. |
