Andreas, that is where I heard it too. I think Varsha or Hobbs made the comment and I also read it in F1 magazine or Racer magazine can't remember which. Those cars have been around 13-15 seconds per lap slower than the F1 cars according to those same commentators for the races in Austria, Brazil and Imola. Still 450 hp in a 1000 pound car makes an F3 or Toyota Atlantic seem tame and I have been passed by those cars like I was parked. I think the spec Avon tire which is smaller and the smaller rear wing give the illusion it's a smaller car. Jon

Jon, thanks for that. I think I overheard that statement during the race made by the commentators, but wasn't quite sure. The cars look so small somehow. Might be my imagination. They sure looked slow going up the S/F 'straight' compared to the whizzing F1s. |

Jon, they're the same width? It's probably an illusion, but for some reason they look a little wider to me. |

Andreas, The F3000 cars are the exact same dimensions as the F1 cars. They cannot run all the aero devices that F1 allows but the chassis dimensions were an exact model of the F1 car. They run 450 hp V8 engines. Makes for very good racing. Regards, Jon P. Kofod 1995 F355 Challenge #23 FLATOUT RACING Website: http://neverlift.homestead.com/flatout.html |

You knew that it was inevitable for someone to pull a boner like he did at the end. Pretty impressive of Townsend Bell to run up to 6th, too. |

Today was the first time I watched it too. You're right, that is a nice way to start your Saturday. The F3000 look cool, like mini F1s and the racing was good. That Wierdheim (sp?) looked pretty much in control. |

Anybody else been watching these races? Nothing better than waking up for some 7AM qualifying, followed up by the F3K race live. Seems like there's always some good action going on. |
