Agreed. Currently watching a tape from 1988 where they had to do a pre qualifying session because they had indeed over 30 cars. Would you believe it? Even if the Minardis, Colonis, Prosts and Zakspeeds were only cannon fudder, I still like to see them and a full field. |

Exactly--That's all well and good if you have a field of 30-something cars. But until they solve their money problems, just consider F3000 to be today's equivelant of F2. |

More money for them all! Actually this would definitely be a more competitive environment. Then again, I wonder if it would be any different from following how the backmarkers do. How many teams would be in F1 then? Are they going to truncate the field? Cheers |

From a German newspaper interview with Max Mosley: There should be again a F2 group. F1 teams, that do badly are forced to step down into F2 and at the end of the season the best F2 teams get to step up into F1. Similar to the 'leagues' system in e.g. European soccer. The point is, that the current lower leagues are all combined into one F2 group, that would ultimately be stronger and more interesting. ...darn, just when I got to like Minardi
