If you guys race each other, than no aids makes sense (assuming the software inhibits somebody from cheating). No traction control against the CC cars would be suicide for me. Previous setups worthless? Oh gosh! Take away my big collection of alternate setups for different conditions and I'm back where I started a few years ago... |

Yeah we use no aids at all. It takes some getting use too but i wouldn't go back now. We've been using F12002 but i assume we'll be switching to F1 Challenge 99-02 because the multiplayer code seems to be better. The new game seems quite different and looks as though previous setups will be worthless. |

Noaidsracing? Pretty cool. I only use traction control as that's what the real guys do too. Spent another hour in the sim and finally found the groove. Managed 2nd place on the grid. That should be interesting. But still hate the place. Had to use banner ads as markers for turn-in and brake points. |

I'm in a F1 online league based in europe now. Only a couple members from North America. It's been very challenging and frustrating at times. BTW, my fav track is Spa. http://www.noaidsracing.tk/ |

Given that pre-qualifying in on July 4th, think anyone will be calling the Magny Cours race "the Freedom GP", this year? |

Jon, spoken from my heart! Not because it is France (hey, I'd love to do Le Castellet or Dijon!), but no rythm. Exactly! Adelaide is bad, agreed. Basically a stop. But I have problems with Estoril too. Not the turn itself, but finding the braking point coming out of turn 2. Turn 8 (180) is brutal, tightening blindly. Chateau d'eau kills me (always overshoot) and Lycee pin was designed by a Go Kart lover. The whole track just blows. I play Grand Prix 4, which has the track a lot more realistic than GP3. In GP3 it was difficult, but you had regular braking pointers. Obviously the real deal is missing some braking signs, so they took them out in GP4 and I'm left without clues. I either overshoot or have to step back on the gas to find the apex. Horrible. So my strategy for the race is to qualify good enough, that I get close enough to Raikkoenen. Then I'll try to take him out in Adelaide. A zero/zero race is better than a 0/10 for him.
A1 Ring and Nuerburg are my favourites. Suzuka is very technical as well (no wonder it was a test track). Silverstone I'm so so. My sim is some UeberPentium box with GP4. Come over to my house and I'll throw a Red Bull party! |

I absolutely hate that track and it has nothing to do with it being French. There is absolutely no rythm to the track and "Adelaide" is the worst designed corner in F1. "Estoril" is the only really nice corner on the entire track. Magny Cours and Adelaide (track not the corner) are the ones I don't really like on any F1 sims. Hockenheim (the old one) is also quite boring. My favorites are Suzuka, A1 Ring, and Silverston. Suzuka is tops! What sims do you have? I have X-Box and PS2 EA F1. Regards, Jon P. Any F1 simmers out there? I hate this track with a vengeance. Monaco, France and Japan are the three tracks per season where I normally don't score anything. Magny Court has turns the devil designed himself. Just when you think you hit the apex and start squeezing the throttle, the darn turn tightens. Blind apexes, unexpected turns, fast and slow turns. This track IMHO is the 2nd most technical there is (Suzuka being #1). Gosh I suck so badly on this one...Nuerburg was a walk in the park in comparison. |
