Oh dear!, don't want to say 'I told you so', but 'I told you so'. Last year was the peak ... now we (er, they) need to work real hard to ensure we save this year and make 2004 another 2002. And I cannot see this happening after the resigning of all the same people, with the same thinking ... I hope I am wrong!

PSK; unfortunatly for John Barnard is he is working for a very underfunded team to compeat against the Honda's and Ducati factory efforts. So far the new KR Proton v-5 has yet to even get the candle flickering much less setting the world on fire.. AHHH yet more discourageing news from Barcelona today Rubens was out paced by Ralf by almost a full second a lap and Kimi by a small margin :-(

Barnard did produce some brilliant designs didn't he. I believe he is now working in the MotoGP world and thus has a fresh challenge. I cannot wait (er, well I can I guess ) to see what radical new thoughts he brings to the motorcycle world ... Pete |

Yes, the 'Dolphin' is not going to meet the shark (Mc Laren vs Ferrari). If your new car doesn't even make it to the European opening, you're doomed. Norbert Haug said at the beginning of the season, that their plan is to loose the non European races and then win everything else. Well, they won the 2003 opener, but not too much else since. Anyway, I'm thinking about PSK's statements about the required refresh of the blood and new talents and so forth and for the first time I'm thinking he might be right. I thought it was rubbish, but there is more to the story than just Bridgestone. The new Ferrari just isn't as good as advertised. I remember Barnard and his brilliance. But he was already on the downward slope of his curve when he built the Ferrari. Maybe a similar thing happened to Newey and the new Mc Laren and Ferrari. If that is all true (and the last couple of weeks point to that), we're in for a real fight between the Schumacher brothers. Personally I no longer see Kimi as the thread, but Ralf very much so. I was making fun of him just recently, but delivering two victories (ok, one was lucky) in a row, is impressive. Let's be realistic, MS was *LUCKY* in France. Under normal circumstances he would have ended up 5th or less in the grid. Not good. |
