On the oldest champion, Jeff is right. Brabham clinched his final championship in 1966 when he was 40. Fangio took his last title in 1957 when he was 46 years old. Jack |

The official word is that during the 1980 British GP, both Desire Wilson and Rupert Keegan were entered with a Williams FW07. Alan Jones and Carlos Reutemann were entered as driving a Williams FW07B, the evolution version of the "normal" FW07. Wilson did indeed not qualify for the race, being some 5.3 secs off Didier Pironi's pole time. Keegan qualfied 18th, Reutemann 4th and Jones 3rd. Jones won, Piquet 2nd and Reutemann 3rd. Keegan ended up in 11th spot, 3 laps behind Jones. Jack |

Jeff and PSK, you're both kinda right:
Desiree crashed in practice and didn't qualify for the GP.
Here the grid. No Desiree, but Rupert made it. Look where Gilles ended up, yikes!
Rupert at the GP. I like their main sponsor, hehe.
The cars were clones off the Williams FW07, which surprised me as there is a firm rule in F1, that you must build your own chassis. Sounds like it was an exception made just for the British GP. |

Jeff, I actually mis read the question ... I thought it said won 1 GP ... and then I really dropped the ball with the nationality. As for the 1980 British GP, I checked the starting list ... maybe there were 4 Williams's. Good point about question 9), I assume it meant any GP. Owe well. Pete

Question 3) Rupert Keegan also drove an FW07 at this event. Question 6) I think Fangio was older than Brabham Question 8) OOPS! Montoya isn't Brazilian, you forgot Ruebens. Question 9) Are you talking about GP's in general or one particular event? Senna? Clark? I don't know. |
