Wow. Yup, Makinen was the best. I love to watch their races on pavement the most--the levels of car control these guys exhibit is just superhuman!! |

Yup, Makinen is great, so is McRae. I hope Hakkinen doesn't get himself into trouble. In my pursuit of old F1 tapes I came across some brutal footage of former Swiss F1 racer Marc Surer and the huge crash he had in a ralley car, which left him burnt (but survived) and his co dead. These things are dangerous, no question. |

Not F1 related or Ferrari but Tommi Makinen who won an unprecedented four consecutive World Rally Championships is calling it quits after 2003 as expected. http://www.crash.net/uk/en/news_view.asp?cid=4&nid=74133 The man was WRC's version of Michael Schumacher between 96 and 99. Sorry to see him go but at 39 years old he has nothing left to prove. I still think depsite Colin Mccrae's claim, Makinen is the fastest man alive and that includes Schumi. What these guys do takes balls. Regards, Jon P. Kofod 1995 F355 Challenge #23 |
