Maybe he should build a few more and start his own race series. Rear wings could be beefed up to hold spare tires, and the ride-along mechanic would have to perform all repairs, just like in rallying. Maybe they could even black out the drivers' visors so he had to drive according to the navigators directions, just like Speed Racer and Racer X in that one episode!

Paul Stoddard actually built the McLaren 2 seater and the Arrows 2 and 3 seaters. He then bought Minardi. So Paul has plenty of experience with 2 seaters.

Minardi always had some two seaters. It is actually a way to attract and 'pay back' some of their VIP sponsors. Not a bad idea, it doesn't cost that much to run these things. I watched them this summer in Hyde Park in London and it gets them a lot publicity for relatively little buck.

Also Stoddart bought up most of the Arrows team leftovers at a bargain rate. Arrows had some two seaters as well (even the three seater). So I bet he just repainted some of those into Minardin black.

Wait a minute. You mean the cash-strapped Minardi team indulged in 8 two-seaters?! I like the team, and want them to stick around, but doesn't it seem a little indulgent for a team in constant financial troubles to spend money on so many of those? I don't think McLaren even built a second one.

I still got to see some F1 action. We went to Rockingham, which is about 30 miles from Silverstone and watched 8 2-seater Minardi's in a 10 lap race. They all had to do 1 pit-stop. It was fairly obviously staged as Jos Verstappen started at the back and won the race. Even so it was entertaining and a couple of cars spun off! It was a bit difficult to tell who was where as all the cars were identical.
So who would have predicted that? Spa GP weekend and Verstappen wins in a Minardi on a dry track?!

NOTT!!!

Just wanted to vent my frustration. This would be the weekend where we'd see the awesome race in the Ardennes forest. But for some short sighted politicians it wasn't ment to be. No Belgium waffles for breakfast, no moules for lunch, no wet race through Eau rivage. Man, it sucks!

Time to put in an old F1 tape and watch the incredible pass from Hakkinen on Michael again. Or the mass accident after DC got a bit overly optimistic in the rain. Or when Michael hit DC and drove 'home' on three wheels.

I hope our neighbours to the North pay attention to this drama and learn their lesson 2005. Bernie will never cave in. Better grant him his tobacco exemption.
