In the most recent Autosport, there were a some comments on two unrelated topics I found interesting. The first was by Jarno Trulli, who made some sort of declaration to teams of his pending availability in '05, and how he wants to turn it on next year to show what he can do for a potential top team. I find that strange, since this year's Benetton, er, Renault has shown the ability to run at the front and ultimately bring home a win. At least in one of the driver's hands, it can.

The other comment was pertaining to the availability of drivers to the fans. Guys like Webber and Rubens acknowledged that fans are what it's all about, and how simple it would be to shake a few more hands and sign a few more autographs. Surprise surprise when Michael Schumacher responded by saying that he doesn't see how drivers could possibly give any more of themselves to the fans. All we need to do is see their busy schedules and realize that giving more of themselves to the racing fans just isn't possible. Now, I KNOW MS is a smart fellow, and I assume he knows who sits in those stands every other weekend wearing all those red hats, shirts and shoes they bought with his name on them. You may not give a s**t about those fans, but at least don't SAY you don't give a s**t about them.
