I agree Pete.

On top of that, McNish is a gullable guy that has been sacked twice in 2 years now....

Tons of experience but I must admit that he is more an endurance racer than a F1 (=sprint) racer.

I personally think this is a mistake. Yes hirer the young guys BUT not as test drivers. You NEED experience for your test drivers NOT speed.

Look at Massa's inability to test for Ferrari ... hence they have hired Burti, or the other guy back.

Damon Hill or McNish would be my choice as my test driver, NOT young blood.

It's not Alonso... it's McNish...

I highly doubt this is true. Falvio is the one who found Alonso why would he let him go. If anything, Renualt should let go of Trulli instead of Alonso. I think those Wind Tunnel guys ( on SpeedVision) should stick with NASCAR.

Sounds good...

I guess they are dumping "experience" for a "possible new F1 star" and I think his nationality plays in his favor...

Jack,

Montagny has been doing some Friday testing with them. He has been racing in the Spanish Nissan series and has been cleaning up. I think at one point he had won 5 or 6 races in a row.

He's a bright young talent.

McNish was dumped as a testdriver for 2004 in favor of Franck Montagny, a "rising French star" which I had not yet heard of.

I don't know if I heard this correctly: I caught the statement in midstream but apparently Renault is getting rid of him for whom I'm not sure. If this is correct Rubens shouls feel very uncertain about his future at The Scuderia.
This was on Wind Tunnel. Can anyone else shed some light on this?
