Thanks for the offer Byron but I think once was enough... my fingernails couldn't go through that again!

Shame Button didn't get his long overdue podium but a classic season. Bring on next year.

Erm, got to see the race no problem thanks but kind of glad no one else followed my advice to go there... the place turns from sleepy bar during the day into an absolute dive populated by drunk teenagers at night! Was very strange to be stood, sober, intently watching a TV screen with house music banging away and all these drunk kids wondering what the hell I was doing there (and in a Ferrari t-shirt as well!). But my girlfriend as well as a couple of other friends were there with me so a good night all in all though Raikkonen and Schuey's combined efforts meant you couldn't relax for a second! Worst was when the feed froze (did that happen to everyone?) for about two minutes when Montoya went to pass Barrichello and by the time we came back Schuey was at the back of the field...

And the sombre looking Schumacher in the post race interview made us all think he'd announced his retirement - had to phone my Dad in the UK when I got back to our hotel just to check!

What a race, what a season, it's going to be a long winter...

Well Chris,
How was it? Everything work out OK? Hope you got to watch it with some other Forza Ferrari buddies. I had to watch it alone at home, but at least I got to see it live! What a race! It was good to have DC on the podium, but even better to have Rubens on the top step.

Well, couldn't get cable sorted but will be in Nevada Smiths ( http://www.nevadasmiths.net ) tomorrow night with a group of friends if anyone else is down that way. I'll be in the Ferrari t-shirt looking nervous whilst Raikkonen's still in the race!

Thanks for the help and welcome guys.

Small opportunity that we might be in our new apartment by this weekend so fingers crossed I can get the cable set up before the first box gets unpacked!

Doody has invited Ernesto over - I'm sure he won't mind another coming by.

Right Doody? You wouldn't turn away a plea for help like this, would you? From a fellow Ferrari brother??? :-)

If you look on Speed.com, then click on Schedule, then the date, making sure you have the Eastern Time zone selected, you should get all the info about time for F1 events.
When I was in England this summer, I had the same thing to deal with. I went to a televison/electronics sales store in Kings Lynn to watch the race. There were several folks doing the same.

Chris- I am embarassed to be a Ferrari owner and F1 fan in a country where a visitor to it's largest city cannot get a tip on where to watch the USGP. Pathetic! Out here in So. Cal. we're a little more with-it. Sorry again and welcome to the USA!

Hi Alex! Great plug for pistonheads (that's pistonheads.com folks!) ;)

Unfortunately won't be in our new apartment by then so won't have our own cable set up (that's a whole other topic...) so might have to go with the hotel room idea.

Glad you got to see it Chris. I think the Japanese GP is about 6 am GMT - so an early start for me and a late one for you! Perhaps you should book a hotel room that has Speed TV?

Cheers from a fellow PistonHeader.

Thanks Fred - I got to see it at the Park Avenue Country Club on Park and 27th. Highly recommend the place, has unbelievable number of screen, all but one showing football yesterday but they had a large projections screen set aside for the GP and there was even another guy there with a Ferrari flag so a decent atmosphere despite not being able to hear the commentary.

Now I just need to work where to watch the Japanese GP - can anyone tell me what time of day it will be on???

what happened - was it ratings?

its too bad as ABC carries a lot of sporting events in High Definition - F1 in HD might have even eclipsed pornography as the greatest use of high definition technology- but alas - just speedvision

Yes Chris I saw in the paper today that its on speedvision, sorry about that. I was just thinking one of the big stations would carry the US race. Hope you find somewhere to watch it.

My investigations so far have revealed that it's Speedvision only this year thanks Fred.

Some people have suggested the Irish bars but which one!!!

Chris,
Are you sure ABC is not showing it. I know in the past one of the bigger networks picked up the US GP. maybe its different this year.

Hi everyone,

I've just moved to NY from England and am desperate to see the GP this weekend but they don't have Speed where I'm staying. Can anyone recommend somewhere that will be showing it???

Thanks in advance,

Chris

PS - I also posted this on the NY area Ferrarichat board to apologies for the double thread!
