Willis, I was at the VIR race. The second car is Bob Segal's 360 Challenge (Bob runs Algar). The car is slightly modified from what fellow FerrariChat member Paul Prideaux told me at the race. They put a wing on it and some other minor things. The car was driven by Bob's son Jeff who has some BMWCCA Club racing experience, Asher Hymman a BMWCCA racer, and Jim Wilson who runs with us at track events and is a good friend of Paul Prideaux's. The did fairly well considering it as practically a bone stock 360 C running against faster 996 GT3's and such. The only competition this year for the 360GT is the Marcus Motorsports M3. Not enough time to get into but there is a huge difference between GA and ALMS. In GA the cars have to be pretty close to stock while in ALMS you can do more and the rules can be changed to make some cars more competitive. The Corvette's were allowed to englarge their engines to 7.1 liters a few years ago when the Vipers were killing them. GA is more minor league (talking about the cars not the drivers) than ALMS. Great weekend for Ferrari, indeed. It will be interesting to see what the 575 will do in ALMS. Looks like a pretty good car right out of the box. In the Grand Am race, I noticed that Ferrari of Washington also fielded a 360 Challenge car (finished 14th). Also, from a brief commentary, it sounded like there will be more Ferrari presence in Grand Am next year. |

360 GT from FoW just won another Grand Am race at VIR. What's the diference in rules between ALMS and GA that makes the GT dominate in Grand AM, but not able to compete in ALMS? |

Today's ninth round saw a double win for JMB Racing, with the brand-new Ferrari 575 M Maranello of Babini and Peter winning overall, while the nr 52 Ferrari 360 Modena of Bertolini and De Simone won the N-GT category. In the title fight, third was enough to give Bobbi and Biagi the 2003 Drivers Title, with their team BMS Scuderia Italia assured of the Teams title in what has been an extraordinary year for them. http://www.fiagt.com/
